A president is answerable to the public. Part of the job of the president is to take critiicisms of the government.

Trump misunderstands the nature of the job. He is a public servant; not a CEO. His reactions are often petty and unbefitting the office.
Not a CEO? The office of President is an executive office. He is the top executive of our country. Decades ago, my dad declared that we would all be better off if we had a businessman in the White House instead of a career politician. We finally have a businessman, and the career politicians hate it.

Would you go into the office of the president of a major company and start asking him dumb questions and being snarky with him? He would probably throw you out on your ear. Or, he would call security.

Mr. Trump is busy trying to run this country, and from where I sit, he’s done a mighty fine job. He doesn’t need all the mean-spiritedness being lobbed at him. It’s amazing he has been as patient and tolerant as he has been.

so no cigar to you on your post. Your examples were not relevant.
I didn’t ask for a cigar. You claimed no other presidents were rude, and I showed you they were. There are Obama examples, too.
Tucker said this…Hannity said this…Limbaugh said this…Ingraham said this…etc…etc…I could care less what any of them say
You might want to think Carlson out again because he frequently critiques Trump and always has opposition notables on his show. If you want to hear both sides of something, he’s not a bad source at all. I agree Hannity is one-sided.

The exercise is conditioning for the Imperial attitude. It only gets worse.

Don’t vote. That’s my opinion. Just because I don’t like the other guy I don’t want Trump shoved down my throat.

How is not voting going to prevent Trump from being “forced down your throat” if he wins?

And if Biden wins, would he be being forced down your throat?

It’s amazing he has been as patient and tolerant as he has been.
When has he been patient and tolerant of criticism? His peevishness, narcissism and refusal to admit mistakes have been noticed by people of all political leanings. Critics get irrelevant attacks from Trump and rude nicknames.

A CEO is not answerable to the public the way a president is supposed to be.

No, that was not my claim and I think you realize that fact. The question was response to criticism, particularly media criticism, which you ignored.

“And you don’t find it odd that other presidents, governors and statesmen (or women!) could ALWAYS respond respectfully to all sorts of questions? Or is this Trump ‘draining the swamp’?”

Trump apologists are working overtime.

No other president has been subjected to the nastiness and gotcha mentality that this presence to has.Additionally, the media has always given republican presidents a hard time, those presidents usually fold.Trump fights back and has called them out for what they are. So be it

Untrue. I found all the birtherism stuff insulting after folks saw what was in the Honolulu paper.

Other presidents have been questioned sharply in press conferences but did not react peevishly. Other presidents could keep press aides, too. It is not just Republicans, the media looks closely at politicians.

All this stuff about ‘Trump fights back…’ is just putting up with him insulting critics, avoiding questions and in general acting un-presidential.

Since Ridgerunner mentioned John Adams today, I give you this which was said as to Jefferson and his rumored slave concubine: "“Go scan, Philosophist; thy Sally’s charms, And sink supinely in her sable arms.” That’s nasty!

Same thing. I did read where Obama was considered rude in a press conference a couple of times (not a tan suit thing). If I get time to find them on liberal google, I’ll cite them.

But rude is rude, regardless of context, and I have trouble believing that snapping back at some reporter is somehow more culpable and less deserved than saying something horrific about John Adams.

Not entirely. Lots and lots of people are entertained, even gratified, by seeing him put those people, who are often nasty and incredibly vain, in their places. I admit I enjoy it, and it very much seems to me they deserve it.

If per capita testing stats look worse than the straight numbers, they use that.
Neither stat bespeaks success. While we are not number one in per capita deaths from this virus, we are close to the top. Last I checked, we were still number five in the world in the number who have died from this disease per capita. There simply is no success statistic. There are some that are worse than others.

I have not seen is as high as number 5; as of today, we are number 9.

Maybe Spain, Italy, France, etc., and the US should all be doing what Zimbawe, Angola, Syria, and Sudan are doing to keep the COVID crisis under control.

It seems the places where there is more testing have more cases. Of all the countries, the tiniest have the highest rates, probably because of the knowledge more than the actual occurrence. There are some statistical issues with all of this reporting, as well as some misreporting from states like China and likely lack of knowledge in states like India.

I strongly suspect those differences are due to greater knowledge and testing on the part of the first group and lack thereof in the second. If the real occurrence in Sudan, for example, was ten times that of Italy, I don’t know that the government of Sudan would know, let alone the media in the U.S.

Spain, France, UK, Italy.

Who are the other six nations?

Is Sweden ahead of us yet. It has been a couple of weeks since I looked. Nonetheless, how could be this high on the incompetent list be a success?
