Trump and his nicknames

Does anyone here ever get tired of hearing the moronic nicknames Donald Trump gives to other politicos.
For example:
Sleep Joe Biden
Pocahontas (Elizabeth Warren)
Lyin’ Ted Cruz
Rejected Senator Jeff Flake
Wacky Omarosa
Nervous Nancy Pelosi

These name seem so childish.
Why not just address issue differences he has with these folks.
Silly name calling just seems so un-presidential.

Could you imagine George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, or George H.W. Bush, using silly nicknames for others in the country?

Oh, yes. But it’s not a new phenomenon and it didn’t start with Trump. I tire of it no matter who it comes from. For example, this week the PM of the UK called David Cameron a “girly swot” and said the Leader of the Opposition (Jeremy Corbyn) was a “big girl’s blouse”. Not to mention he’s said Muslim women look like “letterboxes” and that African children are “picanninies”, both of which he’s repeatedly refused to apologise for or even acknowledge their offensiveness.

So it’s not new, or restricted to the US. I wish it wasn’t anywhere, because much of it is vile.
 
How about ‘chlorinated chicken’ - (and what is that exactly?) At least your side comes up with some halfway witty insults.

Oh, yes. It’s been a long week of British politics here 😆 basically, Corbyn said no-one in the UK wanted to eat chlorinated chicken, as a reference to potential US food imports, which are a lower standard than what we accept currently. In response, Johnson said Corbyn was chlorinated chicken because he was too ‘frit’ (frightened) to vote for an election. And later on someone on Johnson’s team had someone dressed up in a chicken costume handing out chicken to the press lobby (I believe) in order to double down on that idea.

Nah. They’re eye-roll worthy at best. Childish things, with no imagination behind them. I’m not saying much imagination comes from Trump’s nicknaming strategy either. I’d rather they all cut it all out.

I read about that.

In Europe, chicken must not be cleaned with an antimicrobial wash before leaving the slaughterhouse and off to market. This forces higher cleaning and sanitary standards and the chicken plants.

Here, chicken is permitted to be washed in am antimicrobial bath. Apparently it’s safe for consumers.

If I had a choice, I think I prefer the European chicken prep standards.
 
I dont mind them. I think it’s common in politics. It isn’t a new phenomenon. Some of them are a tad sophomoric, but so is almost every campaign ad. And that’s what they are. Propaganda. Which has been employed in some form in all of politics. And yes I can imagine George Washington calling someone a red coat, or Lincoln calling a guy Bob the Confederate etc. In fact George w. Bush was often called nicknames by his opponents, and even Democrats used the term slick willie for a certain president.

No. But those listed were not only politicians, they were iconic American statesmen.
 
What is the point of this post? It is not news and IMHO just another bash Trump attempt.
 
Horton. I will agree with you on this. Those that support him will not be swayed by any of this. Those of us that do not support him gain nothing by triggering his supporters into snarky arguments. There is nothing to be gained. I am finished publicly trashing the man. The ONLY thing I can do is vote.

Maybe not Washington, but Lincoln could be pretty sarcastic, and FDR gave some quite cutting speeches. Truman was famous for “giving ‘em Hell”. So nothing really new.

Your assumptions are wrong. Why do you all assume that if someone doesn’t like Donald Trump, then he’s a liberal? Perhaps it is because reasonable discussions aren’t possible so long as we all make unfounded assumptions about each other. Thanks, but I will pass.

I doubt You vote for him the first time, so not voting for him the second time wont make a difference.

The fact is Before there was TDS, there was B2DS,
before that it was B1DS, before that was RDS. There was also McDS, RDS, DDS,

I disagree with almost all of Obama’s policies and positions. The left just hates Trump. There was even a person on this board that called him a monster. But not able to explain why he is a monster.

I am tired of most of what Donald Trump says and does.
The 2020 Presidential election cannot come soon enough for me.
I don’t care who the Democrats nominate, I will vote for that person, be it Biden, Warren, or whomever.
 
These presidents collectively have never said some of the stuff that Donald Trump has said. There is NO comparison.
 
You have the absolute right to vote for anyone you choose, however, are you voting FOR a platform you believe is better than the Republican platform or are you just voting AGAINST Trump?
