🤷‍♂️ I invite all to read what the Church says on the topic. We should all be able to agree on that, surely?

Sure.

Let’s see what the Church says on immigration, from a thread on the topic last week:

USCCB document

As I interpret it, there’s some prudential judgment involved.

We’re called to be sympathetic to the needs of immigrants. We’re called to consider that as one factor in setting public policy.

But we’re not required to adopt an “open borders” policy. We may consider the effects of immigration on the country as a whole.

For example, we can’t open our doors to an unlimited number of people with no skills. We wouldn’t be able to feed, house, and clothe all of them without incurring an unreasonable economic burden.

We have a right to keep out criminals or others who are a threat to public safety.

As the President suggested two nights ago, we might not be able to afford health care for illegal aliens without endangering our seniors or others who need assistance.

Amusing, giving that you relegate the pronouncements of the Pope to “personal opinion.”
Again, this is only true inasmuch as it is vague. Where popes “pronounce” doctrines I accept them as such. Where their pronouncements are their opinions then I take them as prudential.
Can we at least agree that all Catholics should look at what the Church says on the topic, and not take either of our opinions as decisive?
Yes, we can certainly agree on this.

What about God’s Law? Does state law supersede that?

Just one example of many commands in the Bible to love the alien

33 When an alien resides with you in your land, do not mistreat such a one. 34 You shall treat the alien who resides with you no differently than the natives born among you; you shall love the alien as yourself; for you too were once aliens in the land of Egypt. I, the Lord, am your God.
Leviticus 19: 33-34

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you go on biting and devouring one another, beware that you are not consumed by one another.
Galatians 5:14-15
Does this apply to the alien?

16 Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ? 17 Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17

Well, I voted for Obama and I think important legislation was passed during his administration. The stimulus package which was fiscal policy during Great Recession helped us recover and without the automotive bail out package we may not have an auto industry. The affordable care act did help some people but it wasn’t a robust comprehensive solution. I would like to see insurance no longer monopolized within states. Obama deported more that Bush but it was done humanely.

I wasn’t a fan of Clinton in the last election. I would vote for Biden. I wouldn’t vote for Trump. I don’t hate Trump supporters or feel strongly about them. I just wouldn’t vote for Trump. Trump is likely to win re-election.

The only concerns I have right now is with recession. But my parents and siblings and nephews are recession proof and so am I. But for me recession is a test of monetary policy makers, by infusing so much cheap money into the market have they calculated the consequences. If they have any next recession won’t be dire. If they haven’t boy are we in for a ride.

But again give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and God to God. I don’t think we as a Catholic should feel pressured to vote for any candidate. I personally won’t vote for Trump. But again I didn’t like Clinton either, so instead I voted for State and Local issues. I will vote for Biden this time if he wins the nomination. Other than that I’ll do like last time and vote for State and Local issues.

Every Democratic presidential candidate that I know of is firmly pro-abortion and pro-same sex marriage, two positions approving of what the Church considers intrinsic evil.

I know of some who are not.

Any of the ones you are thinking of have a chance to win the nomination?

I think Buttigieg’s comment in response to a questioner at one of his Iowa rallies was a pretty clear explanation of the national Democrat party’s position on abortion.

Q: “I am a proud pro-life Democrat. Would you support more moderate platform language [regarding abortion] in the Democratic Party to ensure that the party of diversity and inclusion really does include everybody?”

A: “I support the position of my party, that this kind of medical care needs to be available to everyone, and I support the Roe vs. Wade framework that holds that early in pregnancy there are very few restrictions and late in pregnancy there are very few exceptions.”

So no, pro-life Democrats have no prospect of finding any support from their party on this question.
