Some background from another source. The lack of information is because the case files are not public. However, I put some stock behind the Warden and US Attorney supporting her petition, I assume they know the details.
Johnson’s plea for clemency was denied by President Obama weeks before he left office in 2017, despite an initiative aimed at freeing drug offenders serving long mandatory minimum sentences. Case files are not public, so it’s unclear why Obama found her petition undeserving.

A long list of officials — Congress members, the U.S. attorney and even the warden at her prison — asked the pardon attorney to reconsider.

was she violent in any way?
I believe that anyone responsible for profiting from the sale of cocaine is responsible for the death and violence that results. The more cocaine and the more profit - the more violence and death there is, in my humble opinion. However, as I have noted previously, I am in favor of second chances. I am not in favor of making light of her offenses, and I am not in favor of making it seem as if her sentence was in error.

Well, then you should be happy.
  • 20 yrs is not a light sentence
  • Her sentence was commuted, she wasn’t pardoned.
Personally, I think a mandatory life sentence for her crimes was in error. We do need sentencing reform that gives more options to the judge and jury trying such cases.

The answer is “No.”

Do you feel the same way about alcohol? Yes, it is legal. However, it is responsible for a lot of violence and death (along with some pretty bad tattoos) .

No, I don’t equate alcohol and cocaine. However, I do acknowledge that abuse of alcohol has resulted in death and destruction. Because the sale of alcohol is legal as regulated, I do not hold those who sell alcohol legally responsible for the abuse of alcohol.
