I think the key to positions is what news is factual, what is conspiracy theory and what is deliberate deception.
I agree.
For myself, I know it is nothing new to oppose dictatorships, as dictatorship is nothing new for Russia.
I understand that, nevertheless, when I look back at empires, such as the Byzantine empire, I wouldn’t necessarily be at odds with the byzantine empire, and if Russia considers themselves orthodox, then I think with Christian values we should be able to get along with one another.
While I do not trust Trump’s overall hawkishness, I do not for one second think Obama was overly aggressive in promoting democratic values.
I don’t know about that, I know the way they did it was wrong though. e.g. Arab Spring.
On the other hand, I see a shirtless Vladimir Putin, involved militarily in Syria,
I’m not worried about Syria because I know Russia is the only one who has actually achieved anything and has the best possibility of restoring Syria without it ending in chaos and crisis, look at Iraq as a model of the previous administrations strategy and what they were trying to also achieve in Syria. Obviously their approach doesn’t work, so I think Russia is on the right page with Syria, they just need to keep Assad in line to stop human rights abuses.
getting a needed warm water base, invading the Crimea, attacking the Ukraine.
I don’t know much about those issues, but I know that the US (Previous administration) meddled in those affairs before Russia made any move. Plus hearing of how they wanted Ukraine to join NATO so they could plant US military on Russia’s borders is pretty outrageous, just recall the Cuban Missile Crisis, just because they are called ‘Missile Defense System’ doesn’t change anything. It’s not defense when your on someone like Russia’s border. And just because their called a ‘defense’ system, doesn’t necessarily make it so, guns are also called ‘defensive weapons’ but they can also be used for the other.
This conflict seems pretty one sided to me, based only on the facts that I do know and disregarding the unknowns. In time, if he stays in power, I think we shall see the ineffectiveness of appeasement, as history has always shown us.
I agree with Raegan about that, but only if an ultimatum is coming regardless, which was the case with communism, since the two philosophies were incompatible, but with a Christian ethos it’s not the same. And if the ultimatum is coming regardless, id much rather the US stay out of Syria, and focus on strengthening themselves ready for when that ultimatum comes. And over something worth standing their ground on. Syria isn’t it though, especially when we have a track record of the USA’s previous strategy with Iraq and other places that are just a mess.
Just for kicks, I looked up Alex Jones and his ilk to see what they thought. Nailed it. NeoCons pushing to invade. Possible conspiracy over this chemical attack being faked
Just because someone like Alex Jones said something doesn’t mean you can dismiss it out of hand, as they say, a broken clock is right twice a day, consider the arguments on their merit, not just who says them or how they say it. I’ve read some things that are good, and that same person may go right off the rails somewhere else, but I don’t discount what they were right about.

My apologies about my previous posts, I shouldn’t get frustrated or upset.

Also, to me I think it folly for the USA (which is already weakened, economically, militarily and ideologically) to get bogged down with Russia and Syria (middle east again where they have been weakened, especially when they can try to work with Russia whom as I said we should be able to get along with and find a solution when we share some common Christian values), when there are bigger issues like North Korea at play.

I hope this has helped

I see very little Christian in Vladimir Putin’s Russia. War, death and thievery on a scale never before seen, are hardly Christian values I respect.

Could you please elaborate? example? source?
War and death, Ukraine, Crimea.
Thievery on a scale never seen before, Putin’s net worth somewhere in the 50 Billion range, making him the richest man on Earth coming out of a nation struggling to provide basic goods to its people not too long ago.
I am not going to source this for you. This information is available through multiple major news outlets and business periodicals.
