yes it is!That’s quite a stretch.

Where did Michelle get her nutrition education from? [Maybe from an athletic training table???]The first thing to consider is, it’s not LUNCH that makes these kids obese. In fact, lunch might be the only “big” meal some of these kids get. The after school snack and lack of exercise is a much bigger issue. With youthful metabolisms, lunch isn’t the issue. I had children, under Michelle’s lunch program, that came home with headaches. It wasn’t until we figured out they weren’t getting the calorie intake, they needed, from the school lunch program. Again, anytime the Fed. injects itself into your lives, it’s going to be a disaster.
These sorts of comments show how absurdly polarized America is. Do you truly believe that one half of all Americans, or perhaps more broadly everyone who has ever criticized Trump, is incapable of understanding a joke? A lot of people on this forum talk as if they honestly believe the Enemy (that is, the other side of the political aisle) is a completely different species. It’s insane.A sense of humor I have found is sorely lacking on the left.
Imagine how that effected their studies?? God Bless, MemawThe first thing to consider is, it’s not LUNCH that makes these kids obese. The playground is where we got a lot of our exercise during school . A few bumps and scrapes were dealt with and we went back to playing. Its a shame liberals are getting rid of the playground! Most of the kids brought their lunches and I never had a soggy sandwich or what I consider unhealthy food at lunch. The cafeteria food was okay, but I would rather eat what my mom made.
Also our food was natural, not whatever the government and food industry add to food today, including meat and everything else. Bread lasted until it dried out and mom would use it for stuffing, today it is moldy in a few days.
Nothing tastes the same as it did years ago. The real problem is that Americans today are so use to the government interfering with our RIGHTS that whatever they command we accept without question.
I recall there were few over weight kids than also. If anyone can remember our playgrounds had many different items to play on, monkey bars, tether ball, dodge ball, etc… now there really is nothing left as gee someone might get hurt.
Slowly but surely our freedoms have been taken away and both the left and right are to blame.
Also we were taught to think for ourselves, today children are brainwashed from kindergarten through college. I have seen it working in a university and with my own grandchildren. The only child who actually thinks for himself is the one who started reading adult history books at the age of 9 or 10. It is a sad state of affairs in the U.S. today.

It’s not just the liberals…our CAtholic school barely allows anyone on the playground. Too much to cram in the day! And they have reduced the time for lunch to 20 minutes. The playground is where we got a lot of our exercise during school . A few bumps and scrapes were dealt with and we went back to playing. I love your signature! I’ve been training my whole life to audition for Heaven’s Choir!Keep in mind, that the overwhelming amount of children who eat a subsidized school lunch, have no dinner.
The children in our nearby elementary school were given home-made sack lunches to take home for dinner by most of the teachers. Nearly all of them ate it on the way home, many saying they did so because older siblings or parents would take the sacks away from them when they arrived home and eat them themselves. So they ate it on the bus in order to have something.
No wonder they fail most exams.
They are food deprived, and the school lunches are fairly full of cheap starchy items.

I worked in a school lunch program and the kids JUST DON"T eat it. So what good does it do !! They would rather go hungary. Can’t force it down them. And later they eat what they want. There has to be a better solution.
We need to start with parents, meals and companies that push junk food. God Bless, Memaw
Not every law you don’t like comes from liberals. I have a feeling all the testing children have to do in order to prove that teachers are teaching are responsible for the decrease in recreation and exercise time. Add the decrease in funding by the “cut taxes at any cost crowd” (aka conservatives) and schools no longer have money for arts, library books, or, in some cases text books. The playground is where we got a lot of our exercise during school . Yep, equipment is being deemed unsafe like slides and monkey bars, etc. and the actual ground is being called unsafe. I guess they just want us to wrap kids in bubble wrap! Wait…that might be fun for awhile!Playgrounds are going away?
The Michelle lunch basically treated all kids the same as if a 5th grade sedentary girl has the same requirements as a male highschool athlete.I remember how the workers in a local school surreptitiously slipped additional food to hungry kids. The Obama diet wasn’t just a matter of vegetables. It was also a pretty light diet for hungry, growing and active kids. In that particular school a lot of the kids were farm kids, and I imagine they had a pretty significant daily calorie requirement.
