Breitbart has proven to be the leader in false news and out right lies. How sad that so many here put party solely above God and country. This “us against them” mentality is not sustainable. I pray the rosary every day for our country and its leaders.
I think it’s sad that so many here equate political disagreements as heresy to Catholic doctrine.🤷

I think it’s sad that people support people and actions that go against our Catholic faith: throwing the poor under the bus and supporting the corrupt rich and powerful - on Both sides of the aisle! But it’s plain as day that Truman’s quote from so many years ago still holds today:

“Well, I have been studying the Republican Party for over 12 years at close hand in the Capital of the United States. And by this time, I have discovered where the Republicans stand on most of the major issues. Since they won’t tell you themselves, I am going to tell you. They approve of the American farmer–but they are willing to help him go broke. They stand four-square for the American home–but not for housing. They are strong for labor–but they are stronger for restricting labor’s rights. They favor a minimum wage–the smaller the minimum the better. They endorse educational opportunity for all–but they won’t spend money for teachers or for schools. They think modern medical care and hospitals are fine–for people who can afford them… They consider electrical power a great blessing–but only when the private power companies get their rake-off… They condemn “cruelly high prices”–but fight to the death every effort to bring them down. They think American standard of living is a fine thing–so long as it doesn’t spread to all the people. And they admire of Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it.”

HARRY TRUMAN, speech, October 13, 1948

Do you think Truman was supporting illegal immigration and sharia law?

Truman was far closer in political ideology to the modern Republican Party than the Democratic Party.

Of all the presidents, probably Trump is most similar to Truman than to any other. Truman was hard-spoken and the elites of the country despised him. When it comes to vulgarity, though, LBJ had both Truman and Trump beat by miles.

It’s kind of interesting how the parties have, in some ways, switched places. The Repubs of Truman’s time were the elites and very much into social engineering. The Dems were popular among working people and certainly among Catholics.

Now, it’s reversed. The Dems represent the elites and are big on social engineering. The Repubs are now more popular among working people and Catholics.

Investigation on a titanic scale when there is no known crime is simply not what justice is all about. With Nixon, there was a known crime; a burglary. With Clinton there was no known crime, and it should not have happened. With Trump there is no known crime, and none was known after months of investigation.
Here’s the thing though, this kind of thing at minimum has been going on for years with the Clintons. Anything ****** Clinton has been the subject of virtually endless obsession going on 20 years now. They may have been involved in somethings that smell of impropriety or poorly chosen actions e.g.l the e-mail server, but you’d have to be pretty hypocritical to say anything of the like has been done to Trump yet who still the sitting President. I think perhaps the lasting example of this is the common tendency on talk shows, even today, to be deflecting by saying…“but Hilary did this”. Hillary is no longer in any power and the election is over. Even during the election, using her husband’s infidelities against her because all things Clinton must be evil, was a real low.

Maybe there is some ill placed rage against the man, but consider how many people he stepped on and continues to do so at a very personal level and the racist/sexist things he has said.

Not quite, the Republicans have their own business oriented elites, many Trump choose for his cabinet. They will support their own as much or more than their poorer base.

Actually only among white Catholics. They voted for Trump 60%-37%. But Latino Catholics voted against Trump by 67%-26%.

And as far as working people in places such as western PA, MI and WI, in states Trump won by the narrowest of margins, we will have to wait and see what they think of the Republicans after healthcare and if their lives haven’t improved as much as they were led to believe.

And that would explain why Democrats don"t have a problem with illegal immigration.

Exactly and so far the signs aren’t good for the Republicans no matter what your take from no change all the way to complete repeal. Its on going problem is that it has Obama in Obamacare. I think many people have no real idea what the Affordable Care Act is and where it is helping them, even with its warts.

And that would explain why Democrats don"t have a problem with illegal immigration.
You are aware that many Latino Catholics have family histories in this country that go back to before the Mayflower. Spain and Portugal settled this country first before the English, French, and Russians.

Not all Latino Catholics are illegal immigrants. Also, our beloved Pope is from South America and grew up in a Latino culture.

By the way, many illegal immigrants are from Ireland, England, Russia, China, India, Canada, etc.

Actually Mueller is to look into any matters that arise or may arise from the investigation. That includes having the authority to subpoena, say, the president’s tax records.

Well, then it’s time to end this farce of an investigation. Because, if they had any evidence of Trump’s ties to Russia vis a vis their supposed collusion to hack the election, then we would have it by now.

The fact of the matter is that this investigation is a free for all attempt to find anything involving Trump/Russia dealings, despite it having no real relevance to what the initial investigation was really about, i.e., the attempt to collude together to influence the election (such has the hacking of the DNC).

But many Latinos are illegal immigrants, so stick to the points I make and stop sermonizing, i.e., Democrats are not bothered by illegal immigration because Latinos overwhelming vote Democrat. Get it now.

Moreover, our beloved pope is of Italian extraction (just like me), and lived in a country (Argentina), which has the greatest proportion of (immigrant) Italians outside of Italy.

And that would explain why Democrats don"t have a problem with illegal immigration.
From my point of view I see them as well as the Church trying to make them legal. As it is children born in the U.S., legal citizens, are being deported. And this was happening under Obama.

So the Catholic Church believes in breaking the law?

I have no evidence of this.

How is it breaking the law when you try to keep legal citizens from being deported?
So, no illegal immigrants in America, good to know!

p.s. Must be why the Democrats (Senate) haven’t passed Kate’s law!
