The winner-take-all concept wasn’t crafted until later. There are many scenarios that even under the electoral college vote the outcomes would be different.

Listen to the whole transcript of his speech calling for people to work together.
Trump is apparently not part of the equation of bipartisan compromise and ideas.
Look at the new tonight. Everyone is speaking out in support of Attorney General Sessions, while Trump is pressuring him to resign because he thinks the attorney general is there to support his banana republic he’s creating.
The time is coming where all the good people in congress will move forward to remove him

I agree with everything you said up to the last statement. The “good people in congress” are not moving forward to remove Trump. They are not even moving forward. Apparently they are not moving at all except perhaps backward. I am not as optimistic as you about the outcome of this mess.

So that’s the beauty of our government, people are represented by their congressmen and it is their responsibility to contact their representative and let their needs be known.
