Trump or Hillary?

I’m not a Trump or a Clinton supporter. But really, Clinton’s behavior towards others is not any better than Trumps. Clinton is just as much a divider as Trump is. And she has a so many well documented horrible decisions when in a position of power I don’t know how anyone can vote for her. Heck, I’d vote for Sanders before I’d vote for her.
I disagree. I think the nation is divided but I know someone who personally worked for Bill Clinton’s White House and liked him. I also have heard many felt Hilary is very smart.

Sanders is sitting there offering crazy promises to young people that he cannot possibly deliver.

I just heard Hilary give a speech today where she talked about you cannot promise kids free college, when it depends on Republican governors agreeing to it.

I give Hilary credit for having that kind of yes integrity…

Yesterday she also rephrased JFK by stating you cannot just ask your country what it will do for you but what you and your country can do together.

When can go back to Trump who is promising crazy things as well without showing how they can deliver.

Of course Bill is likable, he’s a natural born politician, BUT WE AREN’T VOTING FOR BILL.

Many say Hillary is smart but none have said likable. By all accounts she’s cold and rude to people working for her. When you can’t even be cordial with your SS detail, I think it signifies a deeper flawed personality.

Of course, compared to Trump, she’s downright amiable… 😉

I’m beginning to feel sorry for anyone who works in the White House for the next 4 years.

While I agree with the life of the mother exception (in theory), but Irish has a fair point. Too often it is used in cases that are not at all life threatening nor likely to be so. Any pregnancy can be slightly dangerous and pregnancies with multiple children or children with complications are singled out as being “dangerous” even when a lot of the children survive and the mother rarely (if ever) dies. But I think that should be an issue of training doctors to only recognize cases a where both the mother and the child will certainly die without an abortion (which are immensely rare complications and not to be taken lightly). That being said, I would prefer even a nominally pro-life candidate over a candidate who supports partial birth abortion (like Hillary and Sanders)! I should also point out that both Rubio and (I think) Cruz also support the Life of the Mother exception.

The point still stands that of the candidates, Trump cares least about the Pro-life position. Say what you like about the Republicans – I think most are adamantly opposed to abortion, even if they continually lose to the Democrats on the issue. Trump, however, is a “Republican” for whom the Pro-life cause is at a secondary (perhaps even tertiary) concern.
It says something about the persistence of pro-lifers who are passionate about the life of the unborn that every Republican aspirant to the office of the presidency must at least pay homage to the unborn. Trump does not in any way appear to be passionate about the issue, and he is not driving the issue. The issue is driving him.

And that in itself is a good thing. To be a Democratic aspirant is to be driven the other way.

“Life of the mother” has been used cynically to mean abortion on demand, and will be used cynically in the future. I doubt that any Christian teaching would presume that the life of the unborn child takes precedence over the life of the mother in the dire circumstances where such a dilemma limits the choices. Currently, medical science has advanced to where it is more possible to save the mother in these instances than it is the child, although the goal would always be to save both.
Nevertheless, the law is not there yet where that is even going to be a factor that any president will have control over. It is enough that the mother wants to terminate for any reason she wants to, reasons which include threats from her husband, boyfriend, or pimp.

I suggest you do your homework before spouting such slander.

All accounts indicate the people who work for Trump, or know him personally, find him likable. He’s far from the Leona Helmsley caricature of rich people.

Trump has far better Christian values than the Democrat opposition! He is pro life and that is the entry level qualification and the same for all the Republican candidates. Its going to be a rough and tumble, toe to toe fight with her highness (if she is not under arrest) and America is not going to go Socialist no matter how many whiny “students” want a free ride.

On some level, we are. A lot of people liked Bill Clinton’s presidency because they got two brilliant political minds for the price of one. That remains appealing and that’s what we’ll get again if we elect Hillary.

And that’s why Bill is now her Achilles heel, he’s no longer up to it (physically) and his past foibles will haunt the campaign as he’s trotted out as co-captain.

I disagree that he is her Achilles heel, but that’s probably because I deeply appreciate imperfect humans. Frankly, Bill’s imperfections are one of his many charms. 🙂

Does the fact that he clearly strayed from his wife sexually a number of times poorly reflect on Hillary? Heck no - I’m blown away by the fact that in the face of such betrayal, she holds true to her vows. Hillary is the poster child for the indissolubility of matrimony.

Beyond all that, he’s brilliant and his sexual peccadilloes don’t change that brilliance. Two brilliant policy wonks for the price of one means I’m all in.

Are you still a fan of Bill Cosby, and do you find his imperfections equally charming?
As a role model to the nation, my issue with Bill Clinton is that he’s unrepentant, he still strays. You’ll have to examine your own heart on what that says about Hillary.

Attitudes like this are part of the reason trump supporters don’t care that he’s crass. We don’t care that he sometimes doesn’t sound presidential. If people admire Bill Clinton and call him brilliant, we don’t care at all when the same people tell us Trump is unpresidential. We’d take crass over a pervert anytime.

Yes, I am able to make a distinction between a man who drugs people to have sexual contact with them and a man with whom woman want to have sexual contact.

It’s fascinating that you know the unrepentant heart of another human being. I wish I had that ability.

This Lent, I am indeed focused on the examination of my own heart and its alignment with my God. Never easy, but always beneficial!

Hey, I am all about Trump supporters. 👍 I absolutely get it! It wouldn’t bother me a whit if he were the next POTUS; I just prefer someone more experienced.

As for "pervert…well, I lived in Atlanta during the Marla Maples days. There’s plenty enough pervert to go around for Trump and Bill Clinton!😉

Trump had an affair. Bill Clinton has been accused of multiple rapes and sexual harassment. Trump actually married his lover and had children with her. Big difference.

This poll is closed, but as a Conservative Catholic Republican, I would take Trump any day over pro-abortion-on-demand/too many scandals to list Hillary Clinton. Trump was not my first choice for the Republican candidate, and based on his past beliefs and his penchant for shooting off at the mouth before thinking his statements though, I take his words with a grain of salt, but if that’s who we end up with, he will get my vote. Knowing what we do about the Clintons, I would never stay home and give away a vote to her. That would be voting FOR abortion on purpose, and I can’t do that.

Bill Clinton and “rape” is a 2016 Republican Creation generated to harm his wife’s campaign. I understand why the Republicans need to manufacture scandal. They’re scared. They should be.

Trump has married multiple lovers and had children with them. I personally have no problem with that, but it’s not very Catholic and it’s not something upheld by Christ or Two Corinthians, even.

QOHCV, I support your decision to vote for Trump, but surely we can both admit that neither Bill nor Donald is the standard for proper sexual behavior per the Catholic Church.

I still think Bill Clinton is in a different league from Trump in sexual behavior. But I’m not trying to convince you. I was just trying to say this is how we feel.

I hear you. I truly do. I was engaging in rhetoric, even though I appreciate honesty more.

I won’t lie about this: it would be interesting to see how a non-career-politician (Donald) might lead this ship. I would be willing to give it a go, but still, it strikes me as deeply progressive…more progressive than Bernie Sanders. That’s why I find the Republican voters’ enthrallment with Mr. Trump even more fascinating still.

What happens with Trump is when he speaks to people either through a rally or on a TV interview, he has this ability to bond with his audience. He speaks to you unlike any other candidates. This bond he has with his audience is where trust is established and sins are forgiven. We, like you, are also ready to try a business man leading the country. Mitt Romney would have been a good combination of both political and business savvy, but unfortunately he was no fighter like Trump.
