Trump or Hillary?

Really and truly. I don’t think you made an honest mistake.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t vote for him in any kind of election but I’m in a solid red state. Neither Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders would ever get electoral votes from my state.
It doesn’t surprise me what you think. You have proven to have a wrongful judgment of people. Regarding your comments about me having alligned with Hillary Clinton, I would never support Hillary Clinton, I would never recommend anyone vote for her, and I have never voted for a Democrat in my life.

I’m just waiting for you to be told that if you’re not supporting Trump, then you’re supporting Clinton. Once his nomination is locked in, that will be the party line up until election day. Heck, I was already basically told that this week.

That would be a truly unfortunate thing to have to deal with, Trump or Clinton 😦 . I just hope that the rest of the Republican candidates can get it together so we can have a decent candidate to vote for.

I’m the one that has proven to have a wrongful judgement of people but you’re the one that came to this board and misquoted Trump. Again, I believe I did state that you might have hearing problems.

Can you prove that I misquoted Trump? I certainly did not intentionally misquote him. I do not have a hearing problem. There you go again. The word he spoke does end with an s.

Get out the maple syrup, grandma.

And if we get President Hillary again. it is the Trump supporters who need to take responsibility. Because they choose to put in a candidate whose unfavorables are higher or as high as Hilary.

A candidate who many in their own party said they would never vote for.

A candidate who managed to insult large sectors of the population.

There was a new poll out. Nevada is an outlier. 8 in10 Hispanics hate Trump.

This isn’t about sour grapes. I have voted for many Republicans I am not happy with. Its about serious issues MANY of us have with Trump.

And he just said Planned Parenthood does some good things and folks really think he will defund? Really.
It’s the Trump and Sanders supporters that will be the ones to change the stagnation that the party establishments have imposed on us. The party establishments have not been good for the country for the longest time and supporting another establishment candidate doesn’t help.

A bad republican, whether it is Trump or Bush or Rubio or Romney or McCain or fill in the blank isn’t much better than a democrat. I think the Trump vote is the electorate rebelling against the establishment and that is a first step toward a solution. I wouldn’t vote for Trump and it isn’t likely I would vote for the rest of those I mentioned either.

If we keep voting for bad choices, we will never get good choices.

I’m not sure “the establishment” suffers from anything inherent so much as it does from poor leadership or lack of leadership.

Yes, the Repubs have caved again and again to Obama. But always, it’s the fear of the nuclear “government shutdown” that is always blamed on the Repubs even when the Dems cause it. Who, then, speaks for the Repubs in the exchange? People like John Boehner who are not really convincing people and people like Ted Cruz who make a great show but have no effect on outcomes because they’re really not convincing to most.

One has to wonder, for example, what this country would be like if Romney had been elected. With Repub majorities in the House and Senate, would nothing have been improved at all? Lots of bad things have happened during Obama’s second term and, if nothing else, Romney would not have done them. If Romney had done nothing but wiped out some of Obama’s oppressive executive orders, it would have been an improvement.

Trump isn’t my favored candidate for the Repub nomination, but I would vote for him over Hillary Clinton. I would vote for whoever is the 1,001st name in the New York City phone book over Hillary Clinton. I would even vote for Sanders over Clinton if I voted in a Dem primary (which I wouldn’t). Why? Because Sanders probably isn’t more crooked than the average congressman, while Clinton, having sold out her country for money as S.O.S., how much more can she do it as president? Also, that “We came, we saw, Quaddhaffi died” followed by that cackle is unnerving, and should be to anyone who doesn’t think war is a game.

👍👍

I’ll vote for the next name after the one you pick to defeat the Dems.

Back in the election of 1980, Reagan was a pretty scary candidate to many, including me. I abstained from voting for president in that election. By 1984, I had no problem voting for Reagan. It’s funny how things work out.
I think there’s some insight here. I’m seeing some parallels to the situation with Reagan. For example…
And many party elites already have accelerated the process of coming to terms with a Trump nomination. Ron Kaufman, a former Romney advisor who backed former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush until he dropped out Saturday, said he still would prefer a more centrist conservative candidate. But, he said, he believes Trump will not seem so absurd as time moves on. In the 1980 Republican primary, Kaufman supported George H.W. Bush against a Hollywood actor.

I remember saying ‘God help us if Ronald Reagan is president,’ and a lot of people felt that way,” he said.
I’ve reached the point where I think I can vote for Trump if he’s the nominee (that’s a huge change for me) in order to vote against Clinton. I’ll probably still go to my caucus next Tuesday and vote for Rubio to at least say that I tried to stop the Trump train.

I posteded this in another thread, that if both of these individuals are the nominees, we’re going to need a lot of prayer.

Definitely.

Despite the fact that everybody thinks he knows what Trump is, nobody really does, despite (or because of) his inconsistencies and tough talk. Hillary, however, is a known quantity on abortion, commerce in baby body parts, frivolous war and influence peddling.

I’m not a Trumper, but I would support the unknown rather than a known like Hillary Clinton.

Yup. Additionally, remember this: every president wants to be re-elected. If Trump pulled a fast one and governed like, say,Obama (or even Bill Clinton, for that matter), he would be a one-termer. He (and everyone) knows this.

The Dems continued to support Obama in spite of his failures, Party Uber Alles.

If Trump doesn’t show leadership as POTUS, he’ll be a complete lame duck. The GOP will drop him like a hot tamale. **

Trumps only route to ‘winning’ it to lead where the voters will give him a mandate.**

Agree with that analysis. 🙂

Really? Seems to me that both of those guys got re-elected by solid margins. I don’t know that anyone can say how he would govern, or that switching positions on some issues would necessarily hurt him.

Just because Donald Trump says he is pro life does not mean he is. I am watching a man who plays racial politics, makes fun of women, and gives no real policy proposals. He also exhibits no self control.

And I am suppose to give him control of our nuclear Arsenal. Some discernment is needed here. I am sorry when I hear him speak I get sick.
Please forgive me for commenting as a non-American, but I have to endorse this 100%.
I think this man could conceivably endanger your country because he doesn’t seem to have much idea of the part that diplomacy plays in politics. Bagging Muslims publicly isn’t my idea of wisdom. “Telling it as it is” isn’t always OK!

I can confidently say Trump has zero respect outside of the US. Anyone think Putin’s endorsement wasn’t tongue-in-cheek? Maybe the US doesn’t care what the rest of the world thinks, but the leader of the free world affects all of the world.

Can you also say which US leader your world has respected? I’m curious.
