I have been on the forum less and less these days, but each time I have wondered where Ridge was. Glad he is back, too. He always has sensible things to post.
 
I just junk the computer and start over with one of my backups.

But it worries me all the same.

My understanding from CNN is that Trump said “I think there is blame on both sides”, and “You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. nobody wants to say it, but I will say it right now.”

That his comment is constantly portrayed as the opposite (“fine people on both sides”) of what he actually said just shows how effective disinformation really can be.

Three things, really. First, the Ransomware hit destroyed a lot of files I had to rebuild. Second, I had the tech support guy put in some severe firewalls. I didn’t realize that would block anything coming from outside the country. Apparently CAF has a server in Germany, so it blocked CAF. I just learned I could bypass that.

Finally, recent events have left me with a pretty shallow belief that our freedoms and rights in this country can be preserved against the determination of the intelligence community to govern and the liberal enabling of that outcome. So I probably wasn’t as determined to return as I might have been. But I got past that, at least for now. I still do think, though, that Trump is this country’s last hope against left wing totalitarianism and the paganism driving abortion supporters. That, I believe, is why the left wants rid of him so badly.

Where is the strength of shared communal Christian spirit that would prevent such a brutal attack in the first place?

It seems it has neatly been surrendered and moved off to the side.

Also if 15 Trump supporters badly assaulted a Democrat dressed American I think people would be addressing that in a humble way and not trying to attack Democratic leaders.

The whistleblower’s report was confirmed by the transcript that Trump released, so clearly there was an issue with Trump asking for a foreign country to dig up dirt on his political enemy and the appearance of blocking funding until they do so.

Given Trump’s past behavior, it is interesting that someone would find him as the last hope against paganism, but, honestly, most Americans are concerned with Trump abusing the power of the office.

It was not confirmed by the transcript. Trump has not only a right but a duty to enforce the law. Biden getting the prosecutor of Burisma fired has far more appearance of wrongdoing than does Trump asking a foreign government to help look into the 2016 events that actually did originate in either Ukraine or Russia.

Trump’s having committed adultery is not to be condoned, but is piddling compared to the support of baby-killing on the scale of millions advocated by his opponents. If the latter isn’t paganism at its core, then nothing is.

Yes, this one was beaten to death while your computer was broken. The prosecutor was corrupt. Everyone wanted him fired, from the US, EU, IMF and anti-corruption Ukrainians. Biden was hardly unique. So, repeating the story over and over again doesn’t make it true. On the other hand, Trump did ask for a ‘favor’ after Zelinsky asked about funding. The favor: investigate my political rival. The US ambassador said he thought it was nuts to hold back funding from the Ukraine in exchange for an investigation. Trying to find a narrow path to claim there is no quid pro quo flies in the face of the facts of the case.

Well, I guess you can decide what sins you can live with and what you can’t. Trump’s adultery is the sort of behavior that results in millions of babies being killed in the womb. If it weren’t for people like Trump, we wouldn’t have the abortion problem we do in the US.

The unknown louts insulted him for wearing his red “Make America Great Again” hat, with one knocking it off his head and at least two smashing Turan’s “head and face into the metal scaffolding,” fracturing his eye socket, according to a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed Friday against photographer and fashionista Anna Bloda — one of the event’s organizers — as well as building owners United American Land and the gallery that hosted the event, Wallplay.

All three parties are responsible for the fact that “alcohol was served without an appropriate license” at the event, with many there — including at least one of his attackers — being under 21, he alleges in his lawsuit.

Turan, from Hoboken, says their “gross negligence” makes them “directly responsible” for the attack by the “as-of-yet unnamed assailants.”

He is also going after the attackers, listed as John and Jane Does — hoping that the organizers will have to reveal their identities as part of discovery during his court battle. . . .

To bring to back to reality. There was only one person implicated in the car death, and that person was tried and convicted for his crime. He’s vilified for what he did, not celebrated.

There is no evidence military aid was delayed in order to pressure the Ukrainian government ot investigate anything, let alone Biden. Zelensky denied there was any pressure. Against that is wild speculation that some simply want to believe.

But no matter what, Biden and Burisma need to be investigated. Whether Surkin was corrupt or not (and that’s hardly certain) Biden was giving Ukraine six hours to fire him while Biden’s son’s company was being investigated by Surkin. There’s no question about that, and there’s no question that firing Surkin was the quid pro quo of the loan guarantees. In any other context, it would be regarded as smelling to high heaven and worthy of investigation.

This is one of the worst deflections in existence, but not new. People who support abortion cannot excuse their condonation of the murder of millions based on the fact that some sexual encounters about which they know nothing, could imaginably result in conception which could imaginably result in abortion. Might as well say beer-drinking is as bad as abortion because beer drinking could lower inhibitions which…etc…

St. Augustine was an adulterer who reformed and became a saint. There is no evidence Trump is still committing adultery. But the Dem party is still supporting baby-killing to the tune of a million per year. There’s really no comparison, and Democrats should give up trying to justify their support of abortion. They should just say (as Hillary Clinton did) that we Catholics have to change our religion to suit them. That would be more honest. Have to hand her that.
