Let me be the first to break your rule - because I don’t think anyone has the right to restrict who should respond. I have not read the OP article and I don’t intend to.

It sounds like an inflammatory headline of the sort I do not want to encourage.

It was just a humble request, not dome kind of a “rule”. Of course I don’t have the power to enforce it.

The headline was a quotation from the article. And it was amply supported by facts.

" Tales remains the operative term. Because the contest at hand is not only between Trump and the ravages of Covid-19, or Trump and “Democrat” governors, or Trump and any of the reporters spread out in the seats in the briefing room these evenings at the White House. All of it is part of the larger war for Trump between the numbers and the narrative. Will this president, as has been the case with other presidents, be punished at the ballot box for a woeful reality, not always of their making—or will enough of the voters of 2020, like the investors of the mid-1990s, be susceptible to Trump’s proven brand of brazen persuasion?

There are people I talked with for this story who side with the implacable numbers. Death tolls and unemployment and impossibly long lines at food banks, they say, simply can’t be swamped by even the most tenacious attempts to scramble storylines.

“I am definitely in the camp of not this time ,” said political scientist Rachel Bitecofer, who predicted with startling accuracy the results of the 2018 midterms. “Body bags,” she said, leave “an indelible impression.”"

this was a very good article, I read it. I do think he’ll probably win, I dont imagine him not, but maybe my perspective on these things is skewed do to me living in the middle of Trump Country Middle America. during all this I see people with MAGA hats and bandanas on due to covid. I dont expect Biden to win, but if he does, that will be a surprise

how some people manage to get through all hell and circumstances and still win is quite the sight to see

rump is not dumb,
He clearly is not dumb. He has however, time and time again, come off as ignorant.

And before the flags start flying, “ignorant” is not a pejorative, it simply means “lacking knowledge or awareness”.

I believe he is doing the very best he is capable of, but in my opinion, his best is not sufficient to exercise the office of President of the United States.

Ironically a pandemic and tens of thousands of dead Americans has taken Impeachment out of the spotlight

Decided to weigh in because I’m a bit bored ATM.

I’ve noticed an interesting narrative from Democrats. There’s this idea that a bunch of stupid and knuckle-dragging republicans woke up one day and declared “let’s elect DJT as president just for the LOLZ! And for no apparent reason!”

People seem to forget that our choices in that election were so bad that neither candidate even got 50% of the popular vote!

I don’t trust pollsters and I refuse to even attempt to predict what will be the result of the 2020 election in this crazy, mixed-up world.

But if the democrats want a win, have they learned anything from the last election that doesn’t boil down to “republicans = bad”.

On “none of your business” grounds.
Sorry, but since you noted the flagging publicly, I asked, because I would like to know what offense against forum rules or guidelines was seen in the post. I missed it, but would l know so that I can steer clear of it.

Can you document this?
No, and here’s why.

I’ve never seen anybody else ever write it out in quite the same way I have.

However, I stand by my statement because I have yet to see a serious analysis in MSM of why the people who voted for DJT did so that doesn’t turn into an attack on his voters.

Maybe such commentary exsists.
Maybe there are some liberal and democrat thinkers who have come to understand why somebody might have had very good reasons for not voting in HRC.

But in scanning the two major and popular (and liberal leaning) newspapers that get delivered to my job every day, and what I hear on CNN and MSNBC as I’m giving care to my patients, I simply never see anything positive about his voters.

Have I kept in depth files and cross referenced articles? No of course not. I have a life outside of politics.

But it’s of serious concern to me that I’ve never seen anybody on the democrat side be able to admit that their ideas might not be palatable to intelligent and reasonable people.

But what you offered was this notion:
I’ve noticed an interesting narrative from Democrats. There’s this idea that a bunch of stupid and knuckle-dragging republicans woke up one day and declared “let’s elect DJT as president just for the LOLZ! And for no apparent reason!”
Where have you noticed this narrative from Democrats?
I have never heard this.

Moreover, as I read posts here, Trump opponents rarely if ever say such things; it far more typical to hear this notion brought up by Trump supporters as though it were the case. But rarely, if ever, is an actual case brought up.

There are rules that govern the natures of discourse on the forum. We all should know what they are, post accordingly, and inform flagging by them.

Finding “whoop dee doo “ offensive and of meriting the same level of action as some of the just plain hateful comments I’ve observed on this sub forum, dimishes the impact of flagging.

Making up your own rules again, are you? Read the TOS if want to know what not to do.
