So true.It is a matter of character.
And I have seen enough of Hillary Clinton’s character to know I don’t ever want her in public office.
So true.It is a matter of character.
Do you think that a trump presidency would lead to the loss of 1.3 million lives? What if you believe that Trump is totally unqualified to be President and that his dangerous ideas pose an existential threat to the nation? Combine that with a complete distrust of anything that man says, so that you won’t even get what he “voices support” for. It is not just a matter of minor disagreements on immigration policy or minimum wage. It is a matter of character. That would be a proportionate reason.
That, of course, is your choice, and you are entitled to exercise it, based on your prudential judgement of Hillary’s character. So true.

God might believe your issue of character if you weren’t supporting Hillary Clinton, but she is literally the worst democratic candidate to run against Trump in terms of character and integrity. What if you believe that Trump is totally unqualified to be President and that his dangerous ideas pose an existential threat to the nation? I think the loss of those particular lives will not be affected by who we elect.Do you think that a trump presidency would lead to the loss of 1.3 million lives?
I think that’s what _Abyssinia is getting at.
And you too are entitled to your personal opinion on Hillary vs Trump in the character and integrity department.God might believe your issue of character if you weren’t supporting Hillary Clinton, but she is literally the worst democratic candidate to run against Trump in terms of character and integrity.
Well, thank you. That, of course, is your choice, and you are entitled to exercise it, based on your prudential judgement of Hillary’s character.
…and I trust you will afford me the same courtesy of holding the opposite personal opinion.Well, thank you.![]()
Why are Planned Parenthood, for example, advocating so heavily for Hillary Clinton to become President? If who is President doesn’t matter, because abortion will stay the same, why don’t Planned Parenthood save their money in politics and stay politically neutral? The fact that they don’t, perhaps should tell you something.I think the loss of those particular lives will not be affected by who we elect.
A President’s appointments to the Supreme Court are among the most imprtant decisions he or she will make. With appointees generally sitting on the high court for two to three decades, the decisions a Supreme Court justice will make will long outlast a President.
Not only Roe v Wade, but other abortion legislation. Look at the Texas HB2 that was struck down… What impact do you think that bill had when it was in place on the abortion rate in Texas? If the Supreme Court had more Justices with the judicial philosophy like Clarence Thomas and it may have been upheld!? Who is on the Supreme Court matters! When the next President is sworn in on January 20, 2017, three Supreme Court justices will be over the age of 80: Justices Ginsburg (83), Scalia (80), and Kennedy (80). Justice Breyer will be 78. With four of the last five Presidents serving for eight years, there is a strong possibility that the next President will replace all four of these justices. Replacing almost half the justices on the Supreme Court gives the next President an opportunity to put a mark on the nation’s legal future. If three or maybe two of these justices are committed to protecting the unborn, the next President could be responsible for the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
If Hillary Clinton advocated the right of women to pay someone to Kill their seven-year-old would you support her ? Per the teaching of our church there’s absolutely no difference between the right to life of the seven-year-old and the unborn child. It is hard to see how vague fears about what a candidate “might” do can overcome a candidates explicit statements about what they’re going to doWhat if you believe that Trump is totally unqualified to be President and that his dangerous ideas pose an existential threat to the nation? I have seen thev same excuses for supporting evil from Democrat Catholics in every presidential election in the last 40 years . ThevRepublican candidate is always evil personified while, other than supporting the slaughter of the innocents, the Democratic candidate is a the reincarnation of Mother TeresaGod might believe your issue of character if you weren’t supporting Hillary Clinton, but she is literally the worst democratic candidate to run against Trump in terms of character and integrity.
Except mother Teresa never advocated for the killing of the unborn.I have same excuses for supporting evil from Democrat Catholics in every presidential election in the last 40 years . What a president can do and what a president actually will do are two different things. As I said, I don’t believe a word Trump says.A president may not be able to overturn it directly, but the actions that they pursue could lead to the overturn of Roe v Wade in regards to the Justice or Justices they nominate to the Supreme Court.
Assuming the Supreme Court continues to exist? As I said, I think the dangerous ideas of Trump pose an existential threat to the nation. If there is no nation, there is no Supreme Court. There are any number of reasonable Republicans who are pro-life that I could have supported. But Trump’s character makes that impossible for me.How long will it be until Roe v Wade is before the Supreme Court?
My fears are not vague. The man is just not fit to be president. I don’t want to support Hillary, but I think the alternative is worse. It is hard to see how vague fears about what a candidate “might” do can overcome a candidates explicit statements about what they’re going to do
This argument is a good example of an Ecological Fallacy. “Others have made similar excuses before. They were wrong, therefore this excuse, being of the same type, is also wrong.”.I have seen the same excuses for supporting evil from Democrat Catholics in every presidential election in the last 40 years .
Same here. He reminds me of Mussolini but even less thoughtful. What a president can do and what a president actually will do are two different things. As I said, I don’t believe a word Trump says.

Or you could vote for someone else, as I am doing. My fears are not vague. The man is just not fit to be president. I don’t want to support Hillary, but I think the alternative is worse.
But,in effect isn’t that exactly what you will be doing by voting third party? We are a two party system so,really, even through the choices before us are less than ideal,we must vote for the one who we can hope will do less harm than the one we already know will do immense harm.Or you could vote for someone else, as I am doing.
There is no justification for a Christian to vote for Hillary Clinton. None. Doing so is contrary to the teaching of the Church and the will of God. Voting for Trump is ONLY acceptable as a vote to limit the evil that Hillary supports. I personally don’t believe he will limit such evil, so I won’t be voting for him either. I will vote for a candidate much more acceptable to Christian teaching.
It is dangerous to try and fool yourself into thinking you can vote for Hillary and not commit grave sin/matter.

But you know what Hillary will do? Do the lives of the unborn mean nothing? And I can only imagine what kind of SC justices she will nominate. Even though Hillary is often a stranger to the truth, even in minor instances, I do believe she will not protect the unborn. As a Catholic, I just cannot support that.
Well it depends on the electoral college, and whether one lives in a red state, blue state, or swing state. But,in effect isn’t that exactly what you will be doing by voting third party?
