Mr. Trump did not do himself a favor by doing an interview with George Stephenopoulis this morning. He doubled down on the Khan controversy and revealed his lack of knowledge on the situation with Russian. It seemed like George actually felt sorry for him because he clearly didn’t know what he was talking about. It was strange to say the least.

So it looks like we can count out even allowing French and German tourists coming to visit the US for some time under a Trump presidency. There are probably also a lot of potential terrorists in Britain, so we probably wouldn’t want anyone entering the US from there either. Belgians should also be ruled out since a number of terrorists have been arrested there as well.
It seems like the campaign is completely off the rails. I feel like he will have to do something outlandish tomorrow to take the heat off all he did in the last few days.

Mr. Trump didn’t sound very knowledgeable in his interview:
Washington (CNN)Donald Trump said Sunday that Russian President Vladimir Putin won’t make a military move into Ukraine – even though Putin already has done just that, seizing the country’s Crimean Peninsula.
“He’s not going into Ukraine, OK, just so you understand. He’s not going to go into Ukraine, all right? You can mark it down. You can put it down. You can take it anywhere you want,” Trump said in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “This Week.”
“Well, he’s already there, isn’t he?” Stephanopoulos responded, in a reference to Crimea, which Putin took from Ukraine in early 2014.
Trump said: “OK – well, he’s there in a certain way. But I’m not there. You have Obama there. And frankly, that whole part of the world is a mess under Obama with all the strength that you’re talking about and all of the power of NATO and all of this. In the meantime, he’s going away. He takes Crimea.”
Stephanopoulos interjected to note that Trump has suggested he could recognize Russia’s claim on Crimea over Ukraine’s – and Trump didn’t back away from that possibility in the interview.
“I’m going to take a look at it,” he said. “But you know, the people of Crimea, from what I’ve heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were. And you have to look at that, also … just so you understand, that was done under Obama’s administration.”
Trump added: “And as far as the Ukraine is concerned, it’s a mess. And that’s under the Obama’s administration with his strong ties to NATO. So with all of these strong ties to NATO, Ukraine is a mess. Crimea has been taken. Don’t blame Donald Trump for that.”

Really?

Where?
A few posts past the initial one. He said he copied and pasted from a New York paper owned by Rupert Murdoch. The New York Post. You should go back and reread. It was a rather funny exchange.

Of course I didn’t make it up. That’s why I put quotation marks around it and in response to a post that had a link to an article with a picture of the New York Post cover that I was quoting. Anyone who bothered to read the post I was responding to and look at the links in it would have known that I was quoting from the New York Post.

Nope.
I rescind my bow.

And my respect is greatly diminished.

In post 320 I wrote, “I was just quoting the headline and caption from the new edition of the New York Post where the nude photos of Melania are being published.”

That’s what he does, Good Tidings. Starts one fire then moves on to another.

Maybe we should get a pool going as to who he is going to insult next. The question is who has he left out so far?

I just noticed that Hillary Clinton has moved back into the lead in all the forecast models at Nate Silver’s 538 (“Polls-plus forecast,” “Polls-only forecast” and “Now-cast”). Trump had been ahead in the Now-cast and even in the Polls-only forecast for a while.

Trump is starting to set the stage for avoiding a debate. Pundits are already saying that they are only expecting one. I hope that doesn’t pan out. Between the avoidance of releasing his taxes and his hesitation at facing Hilary mano a mano he may have a path to victory.

I see that Trump has now managed to insult the mother of a dead Muslim American soldier
