There’s a reason she didn’t sign it.

Imagine if you replaced “Hillary” with “Pope Francis”.*

He has a policy never to sign nonbinding online pledges.

Headline reads, “Pope Francis refuses to sign pledge against pornography”.

Would you consider that to be a fair headline?

It’s true…but would you find this to be an accurate representation of reality?

*No one is saying Pope Francis and Hillary are interchangeable here, ok?
She didn’t sign the pledge.

Pope Francis is not a politician. He is not seeking to be president of a country. And you said “online pledges” in regards to Pope Francis’ refusal. I doubt the pledge in regards to pornography that Donald Trump signed was an online pledge?

Pope Francis is not a politician. He is not seeking to be president of a country.
Yet, such a headline would still be true. You have given a good reason why Pope Francis would not sign such a pledge. Yet you ignore the perfectly good reason why Clinton does not sign the pledge. You can’t have it both ways.

Are you serious? They covered it. They covered the Fox interview. They covered Comey. They covered the emails. They’ve covered all of these scandals. You can’t say “why hasn’t the media covered this thing that I learned about from the media?”

It’s been covered.

The problem, like the IRS thing, like the VA scandal (for Obama) like Bill Clinton’s many scandals, is that the complaint isn’t really “why won’t the media cover X” but “why isn’t this scandal throwing this person I hate out of office?” It’s what liberals ranted and raved about for years with George W. Bush.

“Why won’t the media get Bush impeached over Iraq? He’s a liar. He led us falsely into war. He’s crazy. He’s an idiot.”

The issue isn’t “the media” it’s the response. You just want whatever issue it is today to hurt the person you don’t like.

I hear you! I wondered how in the world every insane thing Trump has said and done hasn’t destroyed him yet. But it hasn’t. He still won the nomination. Now, of course, he’s well behind in the general, but that doesn’t please me because I despise Hillary! I mean, she’s going to win, but I despise her.

It’s not the media’s fault that this scandal or that scandal didn’t sink Hillary or Trump. It’s the voters who kept voting for these horrid candidates.
No, actually neither NBC nor ABC mentioned that she blatantly lied. The lies for which the WP gave her four pinocchios.

Just address the question as posed.

Let’s say there was a headline which read, “Pope Francis refuses to sign online pledge banning pornography”.

You knew that he had a policy of not signing nonbinding online pledges.

What would your response be to people who say, “Lookee here! This religious leader refuses to sign this pledge”?

What in the headline was wrong?

No matter how many blizzard scenarios you present the simple truth is the headline was correct.
bob, we’re all on the same side here: Catholics wishing to live our faith.

What would it mean for you to simply say, “I see your point. It would be disingenuous for a headline to say Pope Francis refused to sign a petition.”

It would mean nothing at all about your being right in voting for Trump.

It would simply show your humility to the truth.

No one would crow about being right in voting for Hillary if you simply acknowledged this point.

As of July 14, the Pinocchio ratings for Trump and Clinton were as follows:,

Trump (52 rated claims)

Four Pinocchios: 33 (63 percent)

Three Pinocchios: 11 (21 percent)

Two Pinocchios: 5 (10 percent)

One Pinocchio: 1 (2 percent)

Geppetto Checkmark: 2 (4 percent).

**Clinton (36 rated claims)
**
Four Pinocchios: 5 (14 percent)

Three Pinocchios: 13 (36 percent)

Two Pinocchios: 11 (30.5 percent)

One Pinocchio: 2 (5.5 percent)

Geppetto Checkmark: 5 (14 percent)

As you can see, Trump has received 33 Four Pinocchio ratings compared to Clinton’s 5 Four Pinocchio ratings. So it seems that Trump has a much bigger problem with lying than what Clinton does.

It seems estesbob is just going to repeat his mantra and refuse to consider the question of whether the headline was poorly constructed. Here is some insight on headlines from XKCD:

Surprised that the WP gave Clinton any Pinocchios at all.

Hugh Hewitt did a side by side comparison of what James Comey actually said as opposed to the lies Hillary once again propagated re her innocence on the Sunday News .I really don’t think Hillary would recognize the truth if it smacked her in the face.Pretty soon she will insist that 2+ 2= 5 …Orwells’ 1984 anyone?

Both Clinton and Trump are masters of this. Reality is what they say it is. Truth is totally irrelevant.

Well, I guess since they won the primaries, they’re right.
