I think it was all an ego thing - he has talked about getting into politics as kind of the crown of his career since the 90s. So far he is just applying his apprentice/entrepreneur style to it and it is not working at this point. No doubt it is time for a substantive “pivot.”

Ironically though losing would be a huge blow to his ego, so there is definitely hope, right? It is in his self-interest to succeed. Don’t discount this. 🙂 He may figure out a pivot yet - I don’t care why or how.

any of those other 16 candidates would have been mopping the floor with Hillary by now over the emails, the Iran deal, Benghazi, you name it.
Hillary is a very beatable candidate in my opinion.
I just hope Trump can pivot as you say but I fear we got Hillary in November.

Good.
As for polls 90 days out that is a good thing as Trump can still turn this around and a lot of this negativity can be forgotten by November.
Especially if things start looking worse for Hillary with the email scandal.

What’s funny is you don’t realize the value of polls this far out. People tend to make their decision long before election day. And many will back the horse that’s looking like it’s going to win. Polling weeks and months before the election can be critical to an ultimate win.

Probably so. That’s called partisanship. But I do agree that the current polls are not worth much. Let’s wait till mid-September at least, after Labor Day, when more people begin focusing on the election.
 
I saw that too. And he was reading from a script, looked like. I know this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but Bill called Trump and asked him to run. I wonder if Trump did that so Hillary could win. Both have a lot of influence, and could rig it that way. Surely as a businessman, Trump could not make deals calling other people names, and acting like a bully at times. And Trump was at one time a Democrat and knows Hillary. I know this sounds far fetched, but why would Bill even think of going that? Of course it could also be the opposite. If Bill didn’t want Hillary to win, perhaps he thought Trump would be the candidate to beat her. As they say, politics makes strange bed fellows. What do you think?

I saw tonight in PA for instance, he is doing better in SW PA with white voters without college degrees than Romney did. But a lot worse with the vote in the Philly suburbs. And that attributes to his huge deficit in PA that was reported this wk.

Oh yes he was definitely reading from notes. I think after the wk he had, for the time being he got in line behind the establishment and Reince Priebus. I’m actually a little surprised his supporters like it when he reads what is scripted. The conspiracy theory has been around awhile. I haven’t known what to make of it. But there are times when Trump goes off message as he is prone to do (like this wk) when I do wonder if he is doing all he can to get people not to vote for him. But he said he could shoot someone and not lose support and I’m beginning to think that much is true. Anyway I’m not sure if it’s because of some conspiracy or more that he really doesn’t want to be POTUS. That he started all of this for fun, never thinking he would actually be nominated. Or it may well simply be Trump being Trump.

Well, that’s a step in the right direction. That puts me back on the fence. To think, I always frowned upon people who didn’t make up their mind until last minute. Well, here I am 50/50 between Darrell Castle and Donald Trump. Looks like I’m one of those people Trump needs to appeal to (if he even cares - and at this stage I’m not convinced). Not sure what I’m going to do come November.

You mean a mountain of speculation and more interpretations by Clinton-haters. I watched the first four minutes, and then skipped around watching selections from various points, in case the first four minutes were not typical. Except for the dark music and scary visual effects, the content of the first four minutes was of a charitable foundation with decent goals doing a decent job. Anything that has to rely on the emotional pull of purpose-driven background music is not a serious source of evidence for what should be a rational argument.
