I saw a speech or in the debate, where sure, Trump admits he has received donations.

Reports are some of the leftists protesters were wearing uniforms and taunting the Jewish attendees at AIPAC. Those uniforms would be considered detestable by most everyone. I don’t know if there were many dressed that way.

I’ve sent in small donations of $20 to him twice, just to show support in difficult times. I know many others do that as well. The donations he rejects are large figures from big donors, companies, and his billionaire friends.

Another difference with trump is that when sending out campaign updates to supporters, he never once asks for donation, not once. His emails are always about his events, what has been won in the primaries, what important speeches or policies are going to happen next, etc…

I’ve participated in online debate surveys with Breitbart and newsmax before. As a result of those surveys I’ve received repeated emails from the Carson and Cruz campaign asking for donations, even though I’m not even a supporter. The websites provide my email address to the campaign somehow.

My most recent donation came as a result of anxiety on my part of how little trump is spending on ads against his opponents. Many trump supporters were worried that he isn’t spending enough to combat the donor class’ negative ads. I felt the urge to send in a small amount just to say, please fight on!

I actually think EW might have given Hillary a run. But maybe you’re right that she just thought it was going to be Hillary’s time. I’m not even certain Bernie thought he would win the nomination though or do as well as he has.

Well of course no doubt Trump feels it’s his time. He thinks he is the only person who can make America great and expects riots if he is denied the nomination.
Warren is a smart cookie, and she knew now was a terrible time for Dems to run. The pendulum is swinging away from Dems in power and Warren would have had to run on Obama’s platform.

In 4-8 years she’ll be fresh and can run against the GOP platform rather than having to defend Obama.

I must admit a lot of the Cruz platform terrifies me too.😃 And I support him. I just think all platforms are 75% fluff, 25% fact, if that. Most of it never sees the light of day.
But maybe if Trump does get the nomination, he’d put differences aside and nominate Ted for the Supreme Court! And, Carson would be good as an Surgeon general. Maybe he’d be able to get the fraud out of Medicare and eliminate the paperwork for doctors that comes with it!

And the more obnoxious the anti Trump protesters are, there will probably be a backlash and Trump will get more votes.

And if he loses the primary, do you really think his campaign can repay the loans? Many are the candidates who could never recoup their own money.

I have never been to his campaign’s web site. Perhaps I should look. And if people can donate to his campaign, what of it?
The vast majority of Trump’s contributions to his own campaign — about $12.6 million — are loans rather than donations. This means he could expect to eventually recoup these funds.
Further, of the approximately $12 million Trump’s campaign spent in 2015, about $2.7 million went toward reimbursing Trump-affiliated companies for services provided to the campaign, such as traveling in his own plane and helicopter, according to a New York Times analysis.

What of it, you ask? It’s not entirely truthful for him to repeatedly claim “I’m self-funding my own campaign.” It’s curious that people who believe this rhetoric are also clicking on those “Donate” buttons…

As to whether he’ll recoup his loans, why shouldn’t he? Are his campaign’s coffers thought to be so meager?

Trump also acknowledges the small donations he receives from people.

And yet you tout the fact that his campaign is self-funded.

And yet you tout the fact that his campaign is self-funded.
I just explained why I say that and why I send in donations. There is no conflict. He doesn’t ask for donations. People send in small amounts out of their own volition to show support. When you candidate is attacked from left and right, what can a supporter do? We send in small amounts to show we appreciate his fight in this.

When he did the fundraiser for the veterans, one of his rich friends came up and told the story of how Trump rejected his million-dollar donation offer and he couldn’t believe it. So it’s true trump rejects the donor class and special interests.

Placing “Donate” buttons on your campaign page says the exact opposite.
Whatever you say. We know what he’s doing as his supporters. Do you really think campaigns can be sustained by small donors such as us? $20 here and $50 there?

“He doesn’t ask for donations.” Why, then, are there donate options available via his site? What is he doing with these buttons if he isn’t asking for donations?

And we’re talking here about an estimated 6 million in individual donations.

Maybe because his supporters want to have a way to show support to him???

No you don’t have to believe any of this. He has rejected the donor class and special interests. His one friend could have given him 5 million if he had asked.

Ah. So the donate option is just there to make his supporters feel better. How kind of him.
No you don’t have to believe any of this.
I believe facts. If a candidate wants to claim that he’s self-funding his campaign, he probably should make clear that he’s actually loaning his campaign funding while also utilizing individual donations. That’s fact. And it clearly contradicts his narrative.

I have relatives who work in the private sector, and they say they are better off now, too. The one area in which we agree we are not better off is our insurance premiums. We still get the healthcare we did before, but we pay a lot more for it. My insurance premium has tripled. And I can’t for the life of me understand why the ACA Website STILL does not work! There’s no excuse for that. That is a petty complaint compared with some, but because it’s so petty, there really is no excuse for it. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.
👍 on the things you have said here.
