I never said Obama was wrong to use teleprompter.

I think it’s a good skill to be able to speak without a teleprompter. I’ve never seen Obama speak without one. Have you? Actually I probably have and remember him stuttering a lot.

I’m not saying it’s wrong to accept donations, either. Trump is doing something new rejecting donor class and special interests, which I think is a very good thing.
I have seen Obama speak without a teleprompter at times. How many, I have no idea.

Okay, thank you for your answer. I appreciate it.

And it’s wrong of Hillary to be honest and say she supports abortion,?
Hillary has said a lot more than that - Hillary says that Catholics and others will have to change their religious beliefs against abortion. Many Catholics will object to Hillary’s demand that Catholics change their teaching prohibiting abortion.

I just watched Trump’s speech at AIPAC. I’ve got to say, Trump + teleprompter is a beautiful thing. He’s able to give so many more details than in his usual stream-of-consciousness speeches.

He needs to do this kind of speech more.
He did yet another 180, this time changing his position on Israel. Its getting hard to keep track of his positions day to day.

He didn’t change his positions. He’s always supported Israel and always will, but when it comes to the negotiating table, you have to be able to sit down and work with both sides. He said in his speech tonight that for a successful negotiation both sides have to give up something.

I have see you say this a couple times now, but I have never heard her say anything like this. Can you point us to where she supposedly said that Catholics must change their religious beliefs?

Nice try, but saying that you are neutral between two parties, and then saying you fully support one party is unquestionably a change in position. But hold on, I’m sure he will have another position soon.

I’ve never heard her say anything remotely like that. When she talked about religious beliefs she was referencing women’s rights and patriarchal societies.

It’s either we support Israel all the way and shun the other side completely, and there is never a peace talk at all possible; or we support Israel but have both sides sit down and work as a neutral facilitator. Trump being neutral is talking about the practical side of doing negotiations. It makes sense to me.

I thought he said that he was going to be neutral between Israel and Palestine. I am getting to like Trump and Hillary less and less.
I was surprised (which is saying something! :)) at what he said about that today.

Please see the video:
Hillary:** ‘Religious Beliefs’ Must Change For Sake Of Abortion**
The exact quote of Hillary: “And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed."

Watch the video linked to in #1183 . She says that “deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” In other words, Catholics and others have to change their religious beliefs and bring them in line with what Bill and Hillary think they should be.

It made sense to me, too, when he said it. But now he is saying something completely different.

I don’t see it that way. He’s never wavered in his support for Israel. When he said he would be neutral, do you think he’d be neutral on issues of Palestine committing terrorism? Of course not. He was talking about the negotiation table. When it finally comes to a point where two sides can sit down together, the US should be neutral and help them do their own negotiations, give-and-take.

Tonight Trump has shown he’s received expert advice on lots of details. Before the two sides could ever come together for a deal, there are things that have to happen, such as Palestine getting their act together and stop the terrorist mentality.

Also bear in mind, when trump said he’d be neutral, he also mentioned how difficult if not impossible this deal would be. He knows the complexity of the issue. There is a lot of change that needs to happen on the Palestinian side, which is what Trump talked about tonight, but once both sides come to the table, the US could be a neutral facilitator.

OK, I just read a transcript of that speech and did not find that statement in it. The speech was about fighting things like forced child marriages, denying women education and similar issues. I did not see anything about abortion or Catholics. If you can give me a time hack for the supposed quote I would like to hear it in context, but its not in the transcript and does not seem consistent with the speech.

Well, to be fair you don’t seem to see any flaw in anything that he says or does. Seems to me that most of the world sees this as a pretty major position change, however.
