The U.S. will designate the “Antifa” group as a terrorist organization, President Trump said Sunday, as his administration blames the leftist organization for much of the violence at police-brutality protests across the country.

Mr. Trump announced his plan in a series of tweets about the ongoing unrest in multiple cities in the wake of George Floyd’s death. Mr. Floyd, a black man, died after a white officer kneeled on his neck area for nearly nine minutes during an arrest in Minneapolis.

The president has blamed far-left “militants” for the violence, including looting and fires, at the resulting protests, while Democratic voices say more investigation into white nationalist intervenors is warranted.

Excellent, defang the leftist militants on the ground, take the fight to their supporters in the media, and enforce voter ID. We have Republicans willing to fight back now, and it is glorious.

We’ve heard the conspirators accusations leveled at WHO, the Intelligence Community, the FBI, an MSNBC anchor, and now Antifa before, all with no proof…bringing the boogey man out again when he has no plan on addressing the real issues?

Foreign terrorist laws currently on the books cannot be applied to domestic terrorists because US citizens have rights not normally part of the picture for foreign terrorists in foreign lands.

Yes, Antifa need to be pursued with the same alacrity that has been applied for decades to white supremacists. But there are better ways to do that than to call it domestic terrorism for the purpose of ginning up a whole new set of laws when the problem can be addressed with existing law enforcement resources and codes on the books today. As was done in the 1960’s against the Weathermen et al.

The reason not to go for another set of laws is that one has to watch the mission creep closely. 9/11 was used to instigate the Patriot Act and the DHS. Obama once used the foreign terrorist laws as cover for executing two US citizens without the benefit of a trial.

In the meantime, here’s this juicy allegation:

Could this group have paid bail for an Antifa member or three? Names of the arrested are public records; hence at some point, I expect to see them all in the public domain, complete with mug shots. This shouldn’t be that hard to research for someone on the ground there in the Twin Cities.

In that context, this declaration is more appearance than reality, meant to move Biden into a corner from which he and his campaign will be forced to disavow their associations with Antifa. There is precedent for this, see Republicans and David Duke et al.

I mentioned this in another post, a twitter account to follow is:

CrimeWatchMPLS (claims to mostly monitor police scanner messages, police radio and other things like this)

So far, police records have been scarce but they had some mug shots and all of that information which they have put up on their facebook page.

Also, I listened to the radio and it was said, folks could give a Twin Cities or Minnesota address but not be from here.

Also again, I’ve heard two conflicting reports of 47 total being arrested to just something like 97 over the past two nights… but whatever, that twitter account above seems decent.

LA arrested just 500 in the past 24 hours, so I am wondering a bit about all of these arrest numbers. So far, apparently not so many in the Twin Cities.

(not sure why all of a sudden, some of my posts look like duplicates, will watch this).

Trump might want to be careful before setting dangerous precedence…if he loses, could the new president name MAGA a terrorist organization and indict its leader?

We already get labeled nasty things by the American left. Time to establish some consequences for their atrocious behavior.

Not sure who the royal “we” seem to be using is…it surely is not the Republican Party, because Ive been a Republican before Trump usurped the party and ran it aground. Perhaps you meant “me”, not “we”?

Ah a never-Trumper, between you and me, there is no “us” or “we” to speak of. The MAGA movement is a different story. That is a “we” that I will happily be a part of.

They have free speech, not freedom from the consequences of their speech.

They have already tried to impeach him. I think the President understands that this is war by other means and needs to be treated accordingly.

I have lurked on a few left-wing forums that would kick me out for being a Trump supporter if I posted. I see what those people think in their own spaces. God help us if they ever get elected to the position of town dogcatcher let alone the White House or the Senate.

Judging by the past 30 years or so, a “real Republican” is a content to be a punching bag for the Democrats while accomplishing nothing. I definitely do not want to be conflated with them.

Thanks for pointing this out.
The End.

If only the Left followed such sage advice when it came to the 2nd Amendment. Since they do not, I see no reason to apply it now.

While Antifa has not been the disruption that the Weathermen were, much of what Antifa stands for is descended from the Weathermen and its contemporaries of that era and from well before that, and the potential is very much present for Antifa to be as serious a threat as the Weathermen were. Given their own behavior for which there is plenty of anecdotal evidence, it is well past time to direct law enforcement to form a special task force under existing law to monitor them as was done with the Weathermen. The only problem I have is that this would normally be delegated to the FBI, but since the FBI have blown the people’s trust, someone else has to be engaged to head up this endeavor. In any case, no need for new laws when existing ones will do.
