You’re blaming libertarians for ruining both parties? That’s like blaming the Jews for the fall of the Weimar republic. Real libertarians are pretty much a voice crying in the wilderness.
You are right, none of them are “socially conservative” or I should say they don’'t think the gov’t should enforce social values liberal or conservative. Libertarians are against censorship, speech codes at colleges, against the War on Drugs, the follies of the TSA and surrendering our rights in the name of security.
They are in favor of smaller gov’t, home schooling, “free range kids”, the free market and a drastically reduced welfare state.

There are no Democrats and almost no Republicans who actually want to shrink the size of gov’t. Neither party wants a free market, both are into crony capitalism – sometimes they serve different cronies (unionized civil service vs. private contractors) but often enough they agree.

Go to reason.com or follow it on FB. I’m not a libertarian but I think they have a lot of good points to make.
I didn’t say that Libertarians ruined both parties. I’m saying that both the Conservatives and Liberals don’t know what to do with the Libertarians within their respective parties. The real Liberals also don’t know what to do with the socialists in their party too. They are having a hard time figuring out where to draw the line.

I highly doubt that Jim would vote for either of the pro-abortion candidates. I know that he takes the teachings of the Church seriously.🙂
That’s what I like most about you, Daniele – you’re so friendly toward fellow Catholics. 😉

Don’t forget Libya 😉
Clinton was still only Secretary of State. She didn’t make the decision to intervene there on her own. What about the role of Robert Gates who was Secretary of Defense? Ultimately, of course, it was Obama’s decision. Many other European countries were also involved, so it wasn’t a unilateral US decision. It’s easy to place blame with hindsight, and if the intervention had all turned out well, most people would not be critical.

We should all vote for Sanders, then (he’s probably one of the more honest of the bunch running). 😃
He probably is the most honest and adult behaving of all the candidates.

However, Hillary has been anointed by the DNC led by Debbie Wasserman Schultz and no one had a chance of beating Hillary for the nomination from the beginning.

Its probably why the field was so thin, compared to the Republicans

Last night was tough. Rubio was the biggest loser. Cruz came off very well to those with a taste for him. Kasich said, “I won’t bite” to the moderators when invited to bash trump, a nice moment for him. Trump held his own under fire from all sides including from the moderators. Some of the questions asked: senator rubio, tell mr trump why he would be unfit to be commander–in-chief. Megyn participated int he debate herself like candy Crowley saying the BBB rating for trump university was not A, prompting trump to tweet out the BBB A report in the wee hours of the morning.

There is no more substance in these debates. The only thing there is to kill trump. So if he survived last night, it’s a win for him. Rubio won’t have much longer to go.

Does anyone still have questions on where they stand on issues anymore?
The fact is that the former Trump University has no current rating by the BBB. (And BTW the BBB has its own issues regarding integrity.) It may have been D- previously and then switched to A but that is not the current status. Megyn Kelly gave the impression that it is currently rated D- , which is false information. As you know, I am no Trump supporter, but fair is fair and false information is just that.

Sanders is one of the few candidates in the U.S. race for the White House who could realistically be elected in Europe. His brother Larry Sanders actually lives in the UK and is a politician in the Green Party over here.

Kasich and Clinton could be elected over here as well. None of the others could.

The problem with Sanders, for me, is his approach to gun control. It’s very un-European. The police do not even carry firearms in the UK (with the exception of Northern Ireland). Also, the fact that he calls himself a socialist when his policies are actually social democrat is a bit strange but I suppose fits in with the inaccurate American usage of terms like “liberal”, “conservative” and “socialist”.

In the context of the U.S. system, overall, as a swing voter I might have went with Kasich given his pro-life views, support for elements of Obamacare, bipartisan collaboration pedigree with Democrats in Ohio and so on. He is the only Republican I could ever have hypothetically envisaged myself truly backing outside strictly pro-life issues and I could conceivably choose him over Sanders or Clinton.

I think the best candidate and the most adult is Gov. John Kasich. I’m pulling for the Gov right now. I think he’s the best option and had the best night last night.

If you don’t carry a gun in many parts of Vermont, you might be killed by a moose, coyote, or black bear!

Kasich would be my choice, though he doesn’t have “rock star” appeal that seems to be the real qualification for most voters nowadays.

The words “if ___, he would have” are useless in the political context. Romney failed to get those 3-5M people to vote, therefore he failed, period.
Saying that “if 3-5,000,000 had not refused to vote in 2012, he would have won” is just as useful as saying “if God had opened the skies and commanded all Americans to vote for Romney, he would have won”.
No argument there. 🙂

My point is that that number sat it out to “prove a point”. Really misguided, as it stuck us with BHO for another 4 years.😉

Yeah… so many great Presidents of our past would have never been elected in this age of television.
