I thought he was using hyperbole to express his feelings on the matter, not making explicit death threats.
Listen to his call-in to “Fox and Friends” where he made this comment. I’ve heard no implication that he was being hyperbolic.

hmm, I think most have noticed Trump frequently uses some hyperbole in his statements.

I don’t think that makes him stupid. It makes him human, real. In fact that’s the biggest difference between trump and the others. He talks like a normal person. He’s not afraid to have an opinion and not afraid to modify it if confronted with reality. The others have their canned speeches. They never admit it when their stances change. They prevaricate and hide what they really think. I prefer trumps honesty.
I really can’t think most “normal” people demean others to make themselves feel important, or use vulgar language and innuendos, or constantly tell us how wealthy they are, or what a great company they have built, etc. The others with their (as you call them) canned speeches at least know what they believe. They mostly say the same thing each time and not shoot from the hip like Trump. If that appeals to you, be my guest.

Again, listen to it and explain why one should assume he was being hyperbolic.

Or should we now assume that anything and everything he says is hyperbolic? That would actually explain just about everything that comes out of his mouth, including his references to his own genius.

You may not do that but others do talk differently in life and they are not bad people.some are more cultured while others are more blunt and still others are a little crass. There are all sorts of people in real life and despite the way they talk many are good people.

Just speaking for myself, I’m prepared – right here and now – to disavow Glenn Beck for what he said.

Are you prepared to disavow Donald Trump for the things that he has said?
Whether you disavow Glenn beck is of no significance. Trump has been hounded for days on end even after he has disavowed David duke whom he doesn’t even know personally. Here comes Glenn beck, cruz’s BFF, who is practically a lunatic. I don’t even care what cruz says, but I am aware of the part the media plays in all this: they won’t go after cruz and ask him to disavow beck.

All fire is trained on trump all the time.

Ha, but morally speaking he was opportunistic as he was a little slow and intentional not to cut loose the white creeps. I suppose all is fair in love and war as Obama is the same with his creeps.

Of course not. Sir Mitt Romney is this wonderful charming gentlemanly statesman with conservative ideals, inspiring virtues and lovely demeanor, who just couldn’t win an election. Not once but twice.

In fact he’s so lovely that he’d rather lose again to the democrats than to suffer the bad manners of a friend who supported him.
How many people do you know that you would consider good friends, but you also think they would not make good Presidents? You might gladly accept their support, while not wanting to give them your support, and in fact, if you thought strongly that they would be a terrible President, you might feel a need to speak out.

The comment, Sir Mitt Romney, is beneath you. The truth is, Trump has lowered the discourse during this campaign and the overall discourse in this country over the years has sunk into the mud. That is why, when someone like Romney speaks like a mature adult, it no longer sounds right to many people–they have forgotten what its like to hear a calm and rational approach. And, before you bring up Rubio, I would agree that what he has done lately is wrong, and I am already considering retracting my support of him. I don’t think the way Trump has insulted so many people is right, nor do I think Rubio’s childish insults are right and he did not do himself any good. That behavior, from both men, is not fit for the Oval Office, imo.

Ask yourself a question–would the Lord have us disagree in a calm and rational manner, or would He have us slamming each other with insults and debased comments?

I will agree it was a slip. Exactly why I don’t know. But he had disavowed KKK multiple times before that one show so it was blown way out of proportion.

I supported Romney. I thought he was a good candidate and a gentleman. I no longer believe he is a gentleman. Like many others I feel betrayed by him. I feel that his good manners and nice demeanor are only pretension that don’t mean much any more.

Well surely we can deduce he was well aware of the escapades of while racists and yes it was a slip I agree, BUT, surely one would have come to some moral conclusion about that way of life and should have spoke clear. But again I don’t see that with Obama either. But two wrongs never equate to right? Maybe what they are all in a philosophical way telling us is we are all prejudice.

No offense to the OP but yawn I’m bored with Romney. His 15 minutes are up.

I really don’t know what happened. It could be the ear piece. It could be him being opportunistic. It could be he was having a senior moment as another has mentioned. It could be he was asked the question so many times already he wanted to sound different this time. I dont know. But I do know he had disavowed the group multiple times prior. So the media is trying to milk it way too much.

None taken – I’m just glad this *thread *didn’t last 15 minutes. 😃 (Well, that plus the fact that posters are calling Romney by name and not “an establishment figure” or something like that to make him seem like a drone. ;))

Vanity of vanity said the preacher, all in life is vanity. Yes he wanted to sound different and hit the media attention note which he appears to be on often, is that winning or some form of self loathing? I don’t know, but its concerning?

I think we have to admit they all revise their stance. Trump as I suggest is a bit more illusive and indecisive. They all learn on the job.

As I said I don’t find this uncommon with very educated people.

You actually said that you found this common with very educated people.
The statement was that Trump approves of murdering families of terrorists. I would have to say that very educated people should know that murder is wrong by the laws of our country and of God. Even in war it is not the norm to kill a family because you think a member is a terrorist.
