David Duke: Voting against Trump is 'treason to your heritage’
The former Louisiana representative told listeners to start volunteering for Trump.
“And I am telling you that it is your job now to get active. Get off your duff. Get off your rear end that’s getting fatter and fatter for many of you everyday on your chairs. When this show’s over, go out, call the Republican Party, but call Donald Trump’s headquarters, volunteer,” he said. “They’re screaming for volunteers. **Go in there, you’re gonna meet people who are going to have the same kind of mind-set that you have.”
**
**In December, Duke told POLITICO that Trump’s candidacy allows Americans to be more open about their racial animus.
**
“He’s made it OK to talk about these incredible concerns of European Americans today, because I think European Americans know they are the only group that can’t defend their own essential interests and their point of view,” Duke said. “He’s meant a lot for the human rights of European Americans.”
This is why Trump has to be gentle with Duke and white supremacists; they are part of the team.

So what’s your point? Trump has to make sure these people will never vote for him? Are white supremacists not allowed to pick a candidate? Are they not allowed to like Trump?

If you want to go ahead and say Trump is a white supremacist, go ahead! Then let the people decide.

Maybe the point is arguable but BLM seems aligned with the DNC, BLM has said some very bad things.

There have always been some voting blocs appealed to based on race.

Some of this is called “identity politics”, some identify with Americans though in general instead of breaking it down into groups.

Sort of related, Trump even seems to be doing well now in NY State.

Yes, if I were a candidate and white supremacists supported me I would disavow them and their support. I would do the same with Nazis or terrorists. Sorry for my lack of diversity. It’s called ‘moral integrity’ and/or ‘Christianity’ in my book.

This is what happens to a country after 50 years of militant liberal indoctrination instead of a decent liberal arts education. They throw off their masters and follow new ones. Heather doesn’t have two mommies anymore - she has a swastika hanging on the wall. (and is not sure why, just as thoroughly clueless as before)

😉

Two more responses, and neither has actually attacked the substance of what I wrote, or denied my central thesis.
Well, I believe that there are some things that aren’t worth engaging with. (Actually, that has been a guiding principle for me in my years on the 'net.) IMHO this
Frankly, I think the election of a black guy broke the American political system. For 200 years, the presidency was tailor-made and designed to elect white guys. The election–and re-election–of Obama caused a page fault in the computer of American democracy. Thousands of white people thought to themselves: “this isn’t supposed to happen!”, and responded by rushing to the whitest, most establishment candidates alive: Romney and Trump.
qualifies.

Trump disavowed them I don’t know how many times already. What else will please you?

Well, to be fair to Trump, he wouldn’t have many supporters left if he did that. David Duke told his followers the other day to go to Trump headquarters and volunteer because they would find a lot of like-minded people there. It would be disingenuous of Trump to disavow Duke and white supremacists when he is using much of the same language and promoting the same ideas. He might as well just own it. It’s worked well for him, so far.

Fine but it does not change the fact was when asked about it on national tv. He said he needed to research them. Once again who says this! Who needs to research it. Such a man will not get elected. If Trump fans can not understand this I don’t know what to say but you all are officially at the unable to reason with.

The Democrats will play the tape of him refusing to denounce 3 times fifty million times. He will lose. And not only that everyone who supports him will be rated.

It was not a difficult thing to do it is not a trick question

I loved Trump first because he made liberals go into a tizzy, but lately he’s making pearl-clutching “man-up” neo-conservatives like Matt Walsh and Glenn Beck lose their mind as well. 👍

How many times does he have to disavow Duke, he did it the day before; what is this? Pull a string and hear him talk?
How hard would it have been to say : “I have disavowed Duke and the KKK before and I do so now”? For some reason, he clearly didn’t want to disavow them on Saturday. At the very least, it was a screw-up on Trump’s part.

What is “President Trump” going to do when he says something stupid to a foreign leader which damages the US? Blame his earpiece?

If a candidate condemns and distances himself from white supremacists one day and the next claims he needs to do more research in order to do so again – if a candidate condemns and distances himself from David Duke one day and the next claims not to know who Duke is – who shouldn’t be asking questions about his candidacy??

It not only wasn’t a trick question, it was a softball. Politics 101. When something like that is floating around out there, when your opponents are bringing it up, an interviewer will always bring it up and thereby give you the opportunity to strongly and decisively disavow it and put the matter to rest.

He had more people watching him Saturday. The more people are watching him, the more evasive and mendacious he gets.

I liked the “when”; that’s very apropos.

Agreed. He was giving him a chance to clear any misunderstanding up.

From The Republican Party’s implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy has arrived.

Apt point #1:
At a moment when Republicans had hoped to begin taking on Hillary Clinton — who is seemingly on her way to wrapping up the Democratic nomination — the GOP has instead become consumed by a crisis over its identity and core values that is almost certain to last through the July party convention, if not the rest of the year.
Apt point #2:
“For many Republicans, Trump is more than just a political choice,” said Kevin Madden, a veteran operative who advised 2012 nominee Mitt Romney. “It’s a litmus test for character.”
(It’s a litmus test for all Americans, really)

Apt point #3:
“We’re looking at pulling together people with deep knowledge and experience at Republican conventions going back to Barry Goldwater in ’64 or Reagan in ’76,” Stone said of his efforts, which have been taking place by telephone. “If they try to change the rules to steal it from Trump, he’ll need friends who understand the rules.”
🍿

And finally, apt point #4:
Some party leaders are openly wondering how Rubio, after labeling Trump a “con man,” could show up at the convention in Cleveland and endorse him.
Precisely. The fracturing of this party is staggering.

Donald Trump’s rally descended into chaos Monday with nearly a half-dozen interruptions from protesters and a violent confrontation between a member of the press and security.
**Just after Trump had joked about a moment when Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was interrupted by two female Black Lives Matter protesters at a campaign rally of his, the billionaire was forced to pause his remarks while dozens of African-American students stood up and began heckling him. While they were being escorted out of the event by security personnel, a photographer trying to capture the moment on camera was slammed to the ground by a security officer.
**
“Right smack in the middle of my punch line did they do that,” Trump said of the protesters. “I wanted to give the rest but I couldn’t.”

1968, here we come….

Happens almost every election cycle. HRC beat up BHO (and vice versa) in 2008. Didn’t seem to cause any problems for BHO. 😉
