That is fine. I’d rather belong to a party that can fight it out and be real people, versus belonging to herd that is the Democratic Party.
I was not talking about the party. I was talking about Trump. He seems to personify every evil that liberals say conservatives are full of.
Makes me wonder who’s side he is really on.

Caller on Rush Limbaugh show today: I’m for Cruz but will vote for Trump. Romney made me livid.

Sean Hannity: I’ve always liked Mitt Romney, but for the life of me I don’t understand why he’s doing this… **his attack lines and words are exactly the same as Rubio’s. **

I always thought you couldn’t find a more gentlemanly candidate than Romney. I was wrong. It’s no gentleman to attack so viciously a person who has publicly given you solid support. Trump would never have attacked someone who has helped him before. You can be enamored by Mitt’s calm demeanor, but what he is doing lacks even common decency. He doesn’t have to vote Trump. He can campaign for somebody else, but to attack someone who has helped him like he did is disgusting.

Tonight’s debate is going to be ruthless. One last chance to take down trump. Mitt Romney’s done his part to try to rattle Trump and then it’ll Cruz and Rubio’s turn. And the audience will help by booing every time Trump speaks. I will be surprised if they don’t.

Funny, I thought Romney could have been a lot stronger and harsher in what he said and I have no doubt he could and would have said it if he was not the gentleman that he is. No one can show that kind of restraint if they were not a gentleman. And, if one believes that what Romney did and said is disgusting, then what does that make what Trump does and says?

trump fights his opponents. Romney is attacking someone who has helped him before. Real decent people don’t demean those who have helped you, not in the way Romney did.

Romney knows nothing about Trump’s tax. When Harry Raid accused of Romney of not paying taxes for 10 years, Trump defended him.

Romney said Trump didn’t build his business but inherited it, just wow!!! Decent people don’t make that kind of attack on a person who has helped you before.

I think the establishment wing of the party is using Romney as their hatchet man to try and tear down Trump.

The more this happens, the more I root for Trump. Anecdotally, I have spoken to a number of folks who feel the same way. I find the party muckraking to be disgusting, especially if it is ultimately the will of the Republican electorate to choose their candidate.

Trump was near the bottom of my list of candidates who I wanted from the Republican field, but I find myself rooting for him now just to stick it to the Republican party elite.
There is going to be a backlash from Trump supporters after this. We are NOT children who have to be told how to vote. The people should decide that, and if they’re wrong so be it. Romney by the way, was not a superb governor on Utah. The RNC probably put him up to this, and if not, he is further dividing the GOP party. All this will do is anger the Trump supporters and perhaps get him more votes.

I agree with most of this and don’t know what Romney’s purpose is but Trump has talked Romney down as well: nypost.com/2015/05/22/trump-calls-romney-a-choker-says-jeb-is-total-fool/

But let’s just see how all of this works out. There seems to be an urgency to derail the Trump express for some reason.

You really can’t know much about the Democrat party supporters if you think it’s just a herd. I’ve spent lots and lots of time with Democrats and grew up in a Democrat dominated area. Just like the Republican party there are members that support some of the platform and not other parts. There are people that will vote straight party, and others that lean towards 3rd party options. And just like Republicans, their are those people that try and blackmail others with guilt into doing what they want them to do.

Some are saying on the web that today’s Romney speech is only Act One. After this can anyone be mad if Trump says the GOP has defaulted on their two-way pledge?

the more you talk the more I am convinced by what you say that you believe it is ok for Trump to cut people down in any way possible but every one else has to be good decent people and just take it from him. I think it’s my turn to just say wow!

You can believe what you want. Where was Romney when he needed to fight against Obama? Trump will fight his opponents. You are expected to fight against your opponents. but it’s beyond the pale to hit someone like that **who has helped you. ** Trump understands loyalty, which common folk also happen to understand.

Quote.👍

So Trump started his campaign swinging with counter punches…
Romney first attacked Trump along with many others right after his announcement speech. Remember the incoming Trump got in that first week? Romney was one of the attackers. He then made more attacks here and there. Romney started it.

Trump understands loyalty? Maybe he does. But be careful about what and who people are loyal too and for.🙂
