Might be, though how a man who seems to be losing his mind can be considered thoughtful escapes me. Either way, I wont much care when he replaces Ruth Bader Ginsburg with Ruth Bader Ginsburg Jr, who will be on the court for the next 30 years.

The man being Presidential or thoughtful does not feed my family keep them safe, or protect their religious freedoms. But it does makes voters feel warm inside, so there’s that.

The state is responsible for more deaths than anarchy ever will.
9 unarmed black men apparently were shot and killed by the police last year, 19 white unarmed men apparently were shot and killed by the police last year.

Already these riots have probably seen around 15 African Americans killed.

That has very little to do with anything I said. Over the course of history, the state has been the most violent of all entities.

The rioting and looting has nothing to do with anarchy. Anarchy is the very opposite of the violence that you are seeing.

There seem to be two ways to approach riots and looting: withdraw the police, or send in the troops.
There are other ways. One is to use police to arrest people for the crimes (looting), and allow the protesters the greatest leeway to protest without the looting, helping them all you can with traffic control, water, whatever. You might find they will even help with the looters (which they do) and use their peer pressure to curb violence (again, ditto). Then you might see, that even where George Floyd is laid to rest, and where the looters and vandals there are arrested, that protests are large, loud, peaceful, and productive.

I do not think there will be anything but more violence where martyrs are made.

I have been watching the funeral today. One man heard and came to watch with me, saying he grew up a block away. His brother used to play with George (Bball) though he never met him. It is quite moving.

Amen, for too long conservatives have put “process” and “principle” over results and in the end have conserved nothing, not even the ladies’ room.

Your point is? Gay rights did not start with the amazing Desmond. That was the product of moving the ratchet a little bit at a time for 50-60 years. From tolerance, to acceptance, to public celebration.

Andrew Cuomo is not running though.

You can pretend that the federal response to COVID is the reason you aren’t voting for Trump, but it would be easier to just admit you weren’t for him before COVID. That way, you wouldn’t have to make up reasons and pretend that with an attitude of “that’s it; I’m done with this guy!”

I am amazed you can’t simply admit you weren’t voting for Trump before COVID even came into the public sphere.

It’s kind of amazing how weak the President is when he is a Republican that there are so many excuses why, what happens under his watch, isn’t his fault.
Yep I find that amazing as well. SO MANY EXCUSES.

Mr. Two Corinthians will never get my vote because he’s not a Christian. Not listening to pandemic experts cost us over 100,000 lives, not to mention the economic damage. Tell me more about how he’s “pro-life”. He’s an absolute joke that’s destroying this country from the inside out.

That is only because anarchy has been so rare. It is in man’s nature to form order in society. If anarchy were truly widespread, there would be much more violence than there is now.

I doubt it.
If you doubt that an ordered society is the proper state intended by God for human society in this world, check out the Catechism, sections 1897 to 1927.
