I believe the phrase he used was that if fewer than 100,000 die, then they would have done a good job. Or something to that effect.

If we continue to vote for the 2 major parties, we are giving them permission to continue on with the same & nothing to very little changes.

Vote for change by taking your vote away from the 2 majors & vote the alternative

Trump isn’t the cause of th unprecedented chaos and upheaval of the past for years. He most certainly is the target, however…Considering this chaos began even before he was sworn into office,it might be enlightening to expose the reasons for this.He clearly is getting n the way of a neferious agenda to transform this Nation.
I agree, although I have to wonder if transforming the nation is the goal. I tend to think it’s to make the nation more or less irrelevant. I think the President stands in the way of transnational corporations, organizations and foreign interests. Their access to legislators is less effective with a powerful president who isn’t afraid of offending other powerful people. The debates will help. Saying things like “you’re responsible for 100000 deaths” and “you’re divisive” will not work. Criticism will need to be specific, tangible, verifiable.

And more Catholics may increase the lack of support for Trump:

Pope sends strong message to US Catholics after Floyd death World News
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/p...after-floyd-death/ar-BB15hw9w?ocid=spartandhp [image] It was a clear effort to call out some conservative Catholics for whom the abortion issue is paramount, while other “life” issues dear to Francis — racism, immigration, the death penalty and poverty — play second fiddle at the ballot box. But Francis has also lamented that the U.S. church is “obsessed” with abortion, contraception and gay marriage to the detriment…

Why don’t you just say that I suck as a Catholic?
Don’t we all, at least at times and on some issues? It is okay to dissent from non-dogmas (even this type of doctrine) for conscience sake, but we should strive to understand more the mind of the Church when we do. The Catechism is a good place to read, especially if one follows the footnotes to see why doctrine is what it is.

“The common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights—for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture—is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition for all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination.”

Though the pope goes on to discuss a number of issues that violate human dignity, his writing makes clear that church teaching places a particular emphasis on opposing abortion because the right to life at conception is a prerequisite for every other human right.

“Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship,” meanwhile, warns against a “moral equivalence that makes no ethical distinctions between different kinds of issues involving human life and dignity.

So you can claim prudential judgement? Lying.
Lying? Careful now, you’re getting a bit intemperate.
I am not going to give specifics. … Here is one list of many.
No specifics - and here is a list of them?
Kids separated and lost from parents, no doubt prudentially thinking this was charity.
Are you really unaware this is federal law that was in place under Obama?

But this makes my point. There is nothing whatever in church teaching that prohibits this, in fact it is done all the time whenever a parent is arrested. You don’t like that it is done to immigrants so you shout “It violates church teaching”, even when it doesn’t. This pretty much applies to all of your political objections.

As for all the petty nastiness you ascribe to him, most of that is you buying into the way the media has presented it, such as gassing protesters for a photo op. Yes, he can be objectionable and unpleasant, but this misses the point. You claimed Trump violates Catholic social doctrines. All I did was challenge you to find a single specific example of such a violation, as opposed to an example where you personally disagree with his policies - such as immigration.
Proverbs 12:22 The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.
This is the second time you’ve suggested I’m lying. I suggest you not make a habit of this.

I didn’t.

That conclusion is yours, not mine.
So we agree, the Magisterium and that great saint do not support abortion.

The area we differ is where I say it is not good enough for me that a leader is pro choice where his exceptions are concerned, those being rape and incest. Those babies are ok to abort in his world. That is not acceptable to me.

You , on the other hand keep saying to me in your posts ‘well look at all the great things he does. Lets overlook that part of his leadership because …’

It is a pity Trump has dropped the ball on defending the least
We are called to defend the least among us, and there is no more weak and defenseless population than unborn human beings.
as your link says, defending the least amongst us, no exceptions.

Babies conceived of rape and incest also have the right to life, because as, in your post, the Pope states
because the right to life at conception is a prerequisite for every other human right.

The problem with this Democrat analysis is that Trump has done nothing to promote abortions in the case of rape or incest. But he has acted against abortion in general, and in ways that would negatively affect abortions due to rape or incest as well as others.

What he might personally think about it doesn’t matter. Actions are what matter. His have all been prolife without exception. Biden’s have been pro-abortion without exception.

Mr. Two Corinthians will never get my vote because he’s not a Christian.
So is mislabeling a book of the Bible a venial or mortal sin? I tend to do it all of the time so I guess I’m not a very good Christian either. Or maybe we both suffer from poor catechesis?

Mr. Two Corinthians will never get my vote because he’s not a Christian. Not listening to pandemic experts cost us over 100,000 lives, not to mention the economic damage. Tell me more about how he’s “pro-life”. He’s an absolute joke that’s destroying this country from the inside out.
Is Dr. Fauci a pandemic expert? He said there was not much danger with this pandemic.

An investigation would decide this. That is your opinion.

Again my opposition has nothing to do with democrat analysis. Democrats are pro choice also. Neither are acceptable to me. Both parties candidates are better off rocking out their days on a porch hopefully not full of long tailed cats.
Surely there are better and younger candidates somewhere in America.

We have discussed this on another thread, Yes he is an expert. His many qualifications include public health

The U.S. is eighth or ninth among nations in deaths per capita. The higher ones are all “first world” countries with excellent healthcare. Likely the higher rates are due to older populations in first world countries. All of the higher death rate countries have older than average populations.

This I agree with. Also more pre existing health challenges.
The global death toll vs those infected with the virus
was running at 5.7% a few days ago.

Globally the pandemic is getting worse.

You really need to educate yourself on this. A good start would be the websites for NARAL and National Right to Life. That will tell you whose record is prolife and whose is pro-abortion.
