Hello everyone and thank you for the prayers!

Yesterday I was given some bad news. After nearly a year of shrinking tumors, or holding the cancer at bay - the wonder drug + chemo treatment stopped working for me. I guess a better way to phrase it, is that the cancer learned how to resist it.

I’m am not hopeless, but I believe I felt despair or close to it for the last 24 hours.

There are other treatments including another clinical trial. Maybe these can buy me more time with my family? Maybe another year? Maybe more. I don’t know.

I am supposed to be able to say," it’s all in God’s merciful hands" and I guess it is.

There’s something about our (MY) mortality that makes this very hard. 😦

Every day is a blessing. I know that each day, someone loses their life just commuting to or from work. When that occurs, they have no chance to say goodbye, no chance to prepare, and no chance to receive the Sacraments. They may very well have forgotten about what they did with their families the day before. It is a blessing to receive a reminder of our mortality, as it re-focuses our minds back onto that which really matters. And, the beauty is that God remains in charge of all things. It is He alone Who has preserved you all of this time.

One of my radiology nurses at the treatment center just gave me a copy of Divine Mercy - Triumph Over Cancer, written by oncologist/hematologist Dr. Ronald M Sobecks. I am only beginning to read it, but it has received praise from both the medical field as well as from noted Catholics.

As always, prayers are continuing on your behalf.

Yesterday I was given some bad news. After nearly a year of shrinking tumors, or holding the cancer at bay - the wonder drug + chemo treatment stopped working for me. I guess a better way to phrase it, is that the cancer learned how to resist it.

I’m am not hopeless, but I believe I felt despair or close to it for the last 24 hours.

There are other treatments including another clinical trial. Maybe these can buy me more time with my family? Maybe another year? Maybe more. I don’t know.

I am supposed to be able to say," it’s all in God’s merciful hands" and I guess it is.

There’s something about our (MY) mortality that makes this very hard. 😦

Dear Lord I thank You for guiding all medical professionals involved in Tims care to have the skills and knowledge to heal him.We thank You for the blessings that his cnacer is shrinking and for the opportunities of new procedures that would help Tim.Lord thankyou for good results of the last CT scan.Lord please grant Tim complete healing and fill his heart full of confidence that he will know Your love for him.Lord we pray Tim will be healed to continue to raise his beautiful children and support his beautiful wife.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen

the patron of hopeless cases of things despaired of,

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty”, the “The Wonder Worker” because of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in their need. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being. You turned to God when the power of human beings could do no more, and you were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His cross to heal your affliction. I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:

Aided by your powerful intercession, I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God for His great goodness and mercy.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (TIM). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into TIM’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
 
Heavenly Father , we humbly ask You by Your mercy and compassion to help the doctors and other medical professionals to find the most effective treatment so that all tumors will be totally exterminated and eradicated from Tim’s body and so grant him complete healing and recovery. Amen .

Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick,we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Amen .
Dear God, we place our worries in your hands.We place Tim under your care and humbly ask that you restore him to completely good health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.
