Thanks everyone for their prayers. I am appreciative and humbled that total strangers are praying for me, a very faulty human!

This morning I finished up week 4 of radiation!! And yes, they were right, it is cumulative and things DO hurt worse as time goes on. And in the last week, my hair started falling out!! Weeks after the chemo treatment! My vanity is alive and well and has been hiding below the surface - until now!

Easter Monday I will get my second chemo treatment while continuing radiation - I’ll be connected to a pump so that the chemo infuses at a slow and steady rate for 5 days.

God bless us, everyone!

Thanks to all of you praying people! I’m sore but I think some positive changes are happening inside. Today (and again tomorrow) they are taking additional images of what’s going on in there. So if the tumor has shrunk, or some other movement has happened, they can realign their targets.

They have been warning me about the bad effects of radiation and they keep telling me “it’s cumulative”. I wish they would stop warning me!

Easter Monday they will do the second dosage of chemo, and I will wear the infusion pump for 5 days. I have people praying for me all over the place from Ireland and England to California and it’s a humbling thing because my prayer life has been less than it should be.

Hello all you nice people praying for me!

Today was an adventure but by the end of the day, I had had my radiation (fairly quick, don’t feel a thing, but it really is leaving behind radiation burns I DO feel as each week passes but won’t describe here!) Met with both doctors - One Chemo /one Rad. - both of whom said I was doing great, that things are working out as they should.

But we we really don’t SEE that until the post-treatment scans. Sort of like the resurrection! I need the faith to believe it. That doc is telling me that tumor has shrunk - but I have no proof!

But I have you people and more lifting me up in prayer. I hate to even think it, but you folks are praying for me, more than I am praying for myself!

But I’m staying hopeful that I will live long enough to even the score - to pray like this for someone as after I get better:thumbsup:

Or, to be a realist - when in remission for as long as God grants.

Last week, I think it was Holy Thursday while getting ready to go to church, reality collided with my emotions and something very rare happened - I cried, and it was one of those deep from the gut moan sort of things. I just buried my head in a towel and tried to be silent. (crying is RARE for me and try to keep this to myself…)

I was imagining lying on the hospital bed, saying goodbye to my children and wife - emotionally that is a KILLER! You see, I just lived through that in May 2008 as my dad lay in the hospital bed saying goodbye to me and my family. So the brutal truth that we all go there and if we’re lucky have our families there kinda hit me like a 2x4.

Hi Tim,

Never be afraid or embarrasses about crying. I had to have several eye surgeries a year and a half ago. When I was wheeled into the operating room, I sobbed the whole way there! I was humiliated but it was involuntary! Sometimes we cry when there is nothing else to do! And it is for a reason. It is cleansing and gets rid of some of the stress. And dont feel embarrassed about not praying as much for yourself right now as others are. That is why there are prayer warriors! A lot of times, when we need prayer the most, we dont have the energy for it, or we don`t have the words. God knows this, and hears us anyway. I also think that those of us praying for you benefit from it just as much as you do. We are called to pray for you.
