The point of the article may be this: If you are a Christian group that does not take the Incarnation of Christ seriously you may well get bored with it and turn to a religion with some energy that also denies the Incarnation.

Incidents like this tell me that Catholic evangelization needs a major boost and American Catholic bishops need to stand up more firmly for the Church instead of criticizing the Pope.

How did this story reach you? It reached you because the Muslim Hadith collectors reported it faithfully; had they seen in it something that would harm their beloved prophet (PBUH), they would sure have hid it and you would have never known it to begin with. Aicha, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with her, was already betrothed to someone but the marriage was not consumed.

When did a marriage celebrated by the whole community become a crime? It was a happy marriage, made and celebrated openly, which revealed to be very beneficial to the Muslim community.

Aicha was a great Scholar of Islam; may Allah (SWT) be pleased with her, a great number of the Hadiths are hers and a great number of Muslim Scholars learned at her hands. She is the “mother of the faithful Muslims” and thus my mother.

Many times Christian’s are judged by the laws of Islam, which as a Muslim you believe to by the laws of God even if Christians reject those laws. Christian’s as you know have our own laws from God and having sex with a child is intrinsically evil (always evil regardless of any perceived “positive” outcome) and as such is a violation of God’s law. So Mohammed is being judged by what we believe to be God’s law the same way Muslims judge Christians by what you believe to be God’s laws.

According to the Christian law, the whole community which accepted that marriage is also intrinsically evil, including the parents of the girl. This does not put us in a good light; we inherited our values from an evil society!!

But let me ask this question: How is the right age for marriage for a girl determined and who determines it?

In the U.S., each state passes a law saying what is the youngest age that marriage can take place. So the state legislature has a minimal role.

Otherwise, it is up to each individual, male or female, to decide if they are going to get married, to whom, and at what age.

Yes, and that does add to the whole issue doesn’t it? Does Islam consider aiding and abetting as bad as the crime?

What is the right age for marriage? That has varied by cultural and time. Apparently Arabic culture did not have issue with a nine-year-old girl marring a 54-year-old man at the time. I am not an expert on marriage customs so I can not say what the average minimum age has historically been worldwide. To the modern Western mind a nine-year-old girl marring a 54-year-old man is a crime and is evil. Muslims have no issue with this, but Christians do and as we both will insist we are correct we are dealing with some moral relativism here.

You are allowed thought, you are allowed freedom, but you must engage in the great jihad and discipline yourself to obedience. It is this mastery of self that appears like the loss of free will.

The Ummah is the body of Muslim faithful. We are one body across the planet dedicated to Allah, we recognize no borders. We are one in faith. When you become a Muslim you join the Ummah and part of Allah’s family.
 
Dear Hadiths,

I have no problem with Ummah, but you have to explain, why the Ummah in the west start terrorism in the first place. You may read what happened in European Countries. In London. It seems to me that you cannot become a moslem and be faithful to your country at the same time, and it’s dangerous. On one side, Moslems would love to enjoy the rights given by the west countries they reside, but on the other side they refused to do their obligation:
  1. Turning up some of the Ummah’s member that tend to become threats to the society they live in.
  2. Be faithful to the country they live in.
    The problem is, everytime the Ummah is eager to say that they are peaceful and the terrorists don’t have anything to do with the Ummah. But at the same time, it is proven again and again that terrorists come from Ummah’s member and what is the Ummah’s going to do about it? At this moment, all they do are:
  3. Give half hearted condolences. You said you were sorry, but at the same time you celebrate the terrorists as martyrs.
  4. Say that terrorism is forbidden in Islam, but at the same time refuse the notion that they are a real part of the Ummah - to some point that they try to divert it with Conspiracy Theory.
    What makes the terrorists are hard to find by the western cops and secret services are not because they are very clever, but they blend with the UMMAH (like you said), and until now, they are trying to be patient not to bust the UMMAH altogether. But there must be a limit, when the UMMAH cannot cooperate.
