Yup, It’s my fav Tv show the amazing race family edition… any fans out there?? or whom do u think will win?? the blacks, the gaghans?? the linz??

Phew! Good one tonight. I was rooting for the Linz siblings, they seemed really cool and I was so nervous at the end there that they weren’t going to make it, but they squeaked by. Looks like it’s going to be a good season. I love this show 🙂 my best friend comes over and watches it with me and my husband thinks we’re a couple of huge dorks 'cause we get so excited about the show. smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_20.gif lol!

This is one of my favorite reality shows!

I was soooooo disappointed that the Black family was eliminated. They seemed like a great family.

I don’t have a favorite yet, but it looks like it will be a good season.

I notice the scenes from the next episode take place in the U.S as well…are they even leaving the country this time?

What was your favorite part of the series premiere?

I have to say, we love this show. It doesn’t appear as if they are going to leave the US this time. This may actually be a good thing. There are a lot of places our family would like to visit in our own country and this is a good showcase for some we may not have thought of. Although we wouldn’t go to pull buggies, Pennsylvania was beautiful!

Nice to see that mods have lives too! And you have good taste:p

I hope they do stay in the US this time too. Although I am from Canada, I know that there are many beautiful places in the US that I would love to visit. Well, maybe they could at least come on over to Canada…

Plus, I don’t think that some of the countries they have visited before would be suitable for children…kind of scary and dangerous.

my sympathies to the blacks… anyway, they were pretty cool…

hopefully no wannabe colin quinn here lol… remember him? that fellow is pretty mean …

the pablo fly? with the fat mum is always arguing? How can a arguing team work together? The gaghans and the weavers stand pretty good chance… so do the bransens, the goodelweski?

may they be safe and well.

This was my favorite show in the past. I’m really disappointed so far this season. The domestic thing seems a lot less interesting - you’re right, they could at least venture over to Canada or Mexico. For that matter, why not have Canadian contestants?

The other issue is that the family team, rather than a pair, makes it much busier, and harder to follow the individual personalities. But maybe that’s just because this was the first show - the episodes always get better when there are fewer teams to clutter up the show.

Phil did say that gas and flights are paid for, maybe they will be heading to Canada or Alaska or Hawaii. Since there are kids aboard, they probably couldn’t risk taking them to some of the countries they have gone to before.

I found India and other countries extremely interesting on previous shows, but the poverty apparent when they left the airport was so very heart breaking.

The show does kind of cause a stress by proxy. I’m sure my little little one loves it when my bloodpressure goes up when people are run over by buggies!!! I can feel him kicking around telling me to turn the tv off!!

We were kind of curious if they were going to stay in the US as well. That seems like it might make it easier than it would on teams in the past though, doesn’t it? As far as geography and language goes. (Although, did you hear the mom in the Weaver family ask, “Pennsylvania is a state, right?” My friend and I just looked at each other like, “Did she just ask if PA was a STATE?” Lol! So maybe for some people it’s not much of an advantage)

I don’t think the Paolo family is going to last very long. They’re always screaming at each other, I’ve didn’t once hear them encourage each other. And that mother…why is she even there? She runs really slow, she dropped the clue, and then she was fussing when the guys were having the flag ceremony that “could they hurry it up” or whatever, when the other teams were so respectful. I was like, wow. Nice…

The Paolo family irked me! They spent the whole time fighting, I just hope that the family gets along better than the editing portrays.

My only big problem so far is the loud voices of the girls upset my son and I was trying to get him through his bedtime feeding.

I don’t think this is a good excuse. They could easily have picked a route through the safest countries, such as Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, northern Europe, probably throw in a safer part of South Africa, and one of the more stable Latin American countries, such as Costa Rica or Chile.

I think the issue is that kids get cranky when they can’t stop for McDonald’s after a couple hours on the road. Adults do, too, but their meltdowns have more entertainment value.

I hope they do come to Singapore… lol… do u guys remember they came here once… and taken to the heartlands… i.e the Govt. flats where they met our local comedian… PCK… at least they can showcase my beautiful country… They also went to Botanical Gdns…

BTW, anyone want to know more of my country??.. S’pore… glad to help…

tks

God bless

Ok, watching it for a second time because hubby has to work Tues nights and he is just now watching. . . . .Phil just said “the world is waiting for you” so we’ll see how much of the world they do take them to.

The Paolo’s, oh scary!!! If my kiddies talk to me like that or if I even set the presidence that allows them to. . . . I can’t even fathom!!!

I think some of these adults would cry for the McDs before these kids do!!!

hi digit,

yes. they do… in fact on our Tv they were shown live in the morning followed by the encore in the evening… both cable TV and national network… I’m been a great fan since I watched season 3 many yrs back…remember the Gay couple… Both were nice looking dudes and were very calm and focused. I knew that they were able to win…

Many of the past winners displayed a good behaviorial towards other racers… The last 2 seasons, the black couple (forgotten their names) helped the old couple to move their boats… after they completed their tasks… I mean who would want to do that? It’ everyone on his own…

The best part of the show is the yielding part… haha… Never make enemies unless you want to be kicked out of the race… the worst part is not knowing who yr enemies are… it’s the suspense that make the show worth watching…

That was Uchenna and Joyce last season, they were my favorite from the beginning. My friend picked Rob and Amber, so we were on the edge of our seats on the last episode. 😛 We’re in agreement so far on the siblings, but it’s only the first episode, so we’ll have to see how the personalities play out and stuff.

Now that ‘House’ is off for a couple of weeks for baseball, I’m going to see if I can make my husband watch it with us. Hehehe. 🙂

Hi Folks,

I don’t have a favorite yet for this go round, but was sorry the Black family fell out first. I thought it was going to be the sibling (3 brothers & sister) group - they almost were!

I have a little tug for the Weaver family, strictly because they are from my immediate area (Ormond Beach Fl, I live in Port Orange, about 15 miles south) and I am familiar with what they have been through in the last year or so. The husband and father was killed at the Daytona Speedway during a race. He was a track worker, and went on the track during a caution period to clear debris and somewhere there was miscommunication and/or poor safety regs in place and he got hit and killed by a race car coming around a curve who didn’t know there was a worker on the track. It was an awful accident! So, if nothing else, they get my sympathy vote. At least I hope they do well, if they don’t win, they could use some good time in their lives.

The Paolo family, I think they will self destruct pretty quickly, talk about rude children!! Then I go back to the sibling group again, they all want to be in charge, there seems to be too much competition and sibling rivalry among them.

Was sooo glad Rob and Amber lost last season!! I really enjoy this show, I love some of the places they go, and watching the dynamics between the teams in pretty interesting! Uchenna and Joyce had my vote all the way, especially after she shaved her head!

Fun thread, thanks for starting it!!

The mention of paying for the airplane might just be the usual spiel. I watch to see the country side so I am glad to see some of the U.S.

Oh yes… India is a beautiful country… but the sight of poverty is really pathethic! where the rich are very rich while the poor are marginalized…

The producers are really creative with all the contests… I hope they would show more of China… especially shanghai, beijing or even the remote areas, like xinjiang… the urdu… or the northern like harbin… near the russian border… anyone been to china? fast changing landscape yr in yr out…

Phil Keoghan is a wonderful host…

So we lost the Rogers family last night. (that was their name, right? Rogers?) They were nice but they got too far behind on the drive and that’s what did them in I think. So there’s still hope for the Linz siblings, yay 🙂 What did y’all think? That Civil War thing was really cool, I thought.
