Gee, maybe we’ll get tourists wandering aroung Kansas looking for Jericho now.
I thought of that. The only real place that matches (anywhere closely resembling the roads) is Oakley (?) Kansas. It vaguely resembles the town structure too.
CBS has the full episode of it, and some online-only clips that show ‘survivors’. Currently, there’s a cheesy gansters & diva clip (with lots of production errors, like you can see the blue sky in the basement when the bad guy closes 2 metal doors on the parkinglot, and no debris comes in either - plus you can see the camera crew in one of the shots).
One thing it had me wondering, if most of the government (congress, senate, president, VP, etc.) were taken out in one hit, who takes over? Next highest ranking military general? (martial law)
Isn’t it strange how a small town like that had only one ham radio, and yet an staggering amount of giger counters!
Maybe it was a secret storage depot of giger counters at one point.
I’m pretty sure there’ll be other obvious mistakes (like seeing the mushroom cloud when realistically, you wouldn’t be able to if it was in Denver). Wikipedia has a list already. It’s fun watching for those mistakes. Sometimes, I like watching shows/movies just because it’s so poorly done.
I do wonder how they’ll drag out the storyline - hopefully it isn’t too slow. Seems upcoming episodes deal with nuclear fallout (predictable), and military convoys coming through, as well as listening to a sattelite TV broadcast on what happened.
I think it will become less formulaic as time goes on. The thing is that we don’t know what really happened and I’d imagine there will be a pretty big surprise when we find out the reality of the situation.
Any guesses on how many explosions there have been across the country? We just know of two for sure, right?
Known: Denver, Atlanta
The next likely batch:
Los Angelos - TV stations went off the air, and there’s stations there.
New York City - TV stations there too. #1 rule for disater shows/movies: “Always take out NYC. Always!”.
Chicago - Busiest airport. Gotta add drama there!
Washington DC - It’s the capital, although, the speech seemed to go beyond 6:00pm CST.
Probables:
Seattle - One person had a note that said, “Airport - 10:30pm”. I’m pretty sure that’ll be nuked for drama.
Philly - Just because it’s a big east coast city.
Boston - Just because it’s historical.
Miami - They probably need another SE city.
Others they might pick -
Houston
San Diego
Minneapolis
Detroit
Pittsburgh
St. Louis
Kansas City (probably just to add to the drama that the town is cut off)
Oddball East Coast City Out: Baltimore. Always is. Although, it was nuked in one movie. (Superbowl at Ravens Stadium? Yeah, right! Only if Global Warming really heats things up!)
My guess is that they’ll keep it at 10 or less.
Denver, Atlanta, Los Angelos, New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle, Philly, Boston - Just because it’s historical, Miami
If I’ve go to to listen to that miserable croaking, er…music, through every show, fuggetaboutit. It showed some promise…until the prison bus appeared right on cue; a bad sign it’ll be typical potboiler.
I found that overused plotline hysterical.
