I’ve been keeping up with the other lost thread—didn’t know about this one.

I think the “her” that Juliette looks like is Ben’s own mother who died giving birth.

There is a painting of her on Ben’s wall.

I don’t think it is Annie (childhood friend) because she is brunette.

The freighter is Papa Widmore’s. That explains why Naomi and the other freighter folk know of Desmond and Penny and why they were instructed not to take any calls from Penny. Oh, and why Penny said it wasn’t her boat.

I finally watched the last episode online today. I guess that explains how Sayid will end up working for Ben since I assume he will team up with Michael and go after Whitmore.

Anyone else think the way Carl and Danielle were killed was stupid. They are being shot at and they decide to get up in the open and run? Seems kind of stupid. It was dumb enough for Carl not to immediately fal to the ground and take cover. It was even dumber for Danielle to start running standing up. They should have been crawling and taking shelter. The worst part is how the three of them were dumb enough to trust Ben. It obviously was planned to kill the other two and not Alex.

Did anyone else find the last episode to be a bit of a letdown? It seems like with lost, every three or four episodes you get filler episodes that don’t really explain much.

Also, I found the deaths of Carl and Danielle to be unsatisfactory, Carl wasn’t a big character, but they really could have done something cool with Danielle who is a big part of the mystery of the Island (remember, we still don’t know what she was talking about in regards to the distress message, and the sickness that ‘killed them all’).

I don’t know, the constant lying of all the various protagonists and total disorientation of the plot makes watching some episodes like watching a show you’ve never seen before. You have no idea what anything means, and at the end you’re just like “huh”. This kinda thing is good in moderate doses, but if you overdo it, its not good. Remember in season 2 when they started introducing so many mysteries without explaining anything, people complained?

I just keep thinking, stop sneaking around already!

Wow, tonights episode was great. I wonder what ben did to call in the smoke monster. So many new things were brought up tonight, I cannot wait for next weeks episode, I hope we get to see more of Jacob, and maybe hear from him.

I agree, tonights episode was awsome. I love how your really kep guesing whether Ben is good or bad. I’m still leaning towards him being good.
Thoe guys from the boat are so cold hearted. I was just about cheering when the smoke monster came in.

The sinners are the best characters, they have more to say and do. It’s great that two or three non-christians can make a show that perks the interests of the lambs of god.

I think Ben is bad, and I think most of the people are bad. Charles Widmore and Ben are both villains who happen to be fighting eachother IMO. Did anyone notice that Ben’s jacket in the desert said halliwax on it for a name ta, and Halliwax was one of the names Dr. Marvin Candle (from the orientation videos) uses.
Looks like there is going to be a confrontation between Ben and Desmond/Penelope.

Anyone else think the island is the Garden of Eden?
A contaminated Garden after the Fall perhaps, considering all the suffering and death that takes place there. It is insulated from the outside world, although some people have managed to get through. Ben is like the serpent in the way he tempts and manipulates everyone, I suppose.

That’s what I originally thought. Now with the introduction of Charles Widmore, I’m starting to think Ben might be the angle placed to protect it and keep people out and that Widmore is the serpent.

That’s what I’m thinking, also.

Yet, I can’t get over two things about Ben in this last episode:
  1. How he manipulated Sayid to help him get at Widmore and
  2. How he mourned over his daughter.
One thing’s for sure - Ben’s not infallible and can make mistakes.

Ben controls the smoke monster?

Hugos lottery numbers are yet to be explained?

Has it been revealed how Locke’s father on Kate’s horse got to the island?

I did learn in a recent TV Guide interview the producers already have the ending, and know how they’re gonna take us there.

I don’t know if Ben can control it or not. I think he did some thing to signal it, but Ben made it sound like he didn’t have control over it, which is why they need to get away.

I thought there was an explanation for Hurley’s numbers, but I can’t remember it right now.

My guess is that Ben had Locke’s father kidnapped and lied to Locke to pique his curiosity. The horse, IMO, is a manifestation of the black smoke monster.

I forget, is there anyone still pressing the button? If not, what happened?

Briefly, at the end of Season 2, Locke lost faith in the pushing the button because he believed he had been duped. He refused to let anyone push it and destroyed the computer just to see what would happen. That’s when the underground hatch imploded and the sky turned purple, but not before Desmond turned the emergency master key (somewhere deeper underground) to save rest of the island and presumably the world from destruction.

After this, in Season 3, is when Desmond has his first trip to his own past and starts having flashes of the future, like Charlie’s death. I don’t recall all the details but I hope that helps.

Ok, I remember now.

Lately the show has been more into the characters than the mystical aspects of the island. Like how is it Locke can walk, what’s the deal with prego women, echo’s brother on the that plane, how did Dharma find the island etc?

It has been fun escapism over the years, and the show is back on track, but I still can’t figure out what the purpose of the tallies were, they did nothing to advance the story.

I’m hoping Jacob has more answers.

So Kate and Jack are engaged at one point in the future. Didn’t really see that coming. Though from last seasons flash foreward, it doesn’t seem to last.
It also seems like Sawer might still be alive in the future. I’m glad if he is, but I was certain he’d get killed off.
And I’m wondering what happened to Claire, and if they’ll even tell us this season. I was thinking before that maybe she gets killed somehow and thats why Kate has Aaron in the future, but now I’m second guessing.
I’m not certain of anything at this point, I’m not even positive that Jin gets killed like they said a few episodes back.

I don’t think Jin gets killed. The date on that headstone was the same date as the plane crash. Obviously he didn’t die then and I’m sure Sun would have corrected that.
