Because they think Islam is on their side in defeating Christianity. They don’t realize Islam doesn’t like them a bit better. Why is the “prophet” not the target of protest and criticism?

This is false.a considerable portion of those calling themselves Conservatives are self-proclaimed evangelical Christians who have as much disdain for Catholicism as they do . . . minorities
Your limited experience doesn’t make it false. This is false.
a considerable portion of those calling themselves Conservatives are self-proclaimed evangelical Christians who have as much disdain for Catholicism as they do . . . minorities
Muslims don’t have images of their prophet. Not saying they’d be protested if they did, but they don’t so we really can’t know for sure they too wouldn’t eventually get attacked.Neither Jesus nor the Blessed Virgin owned slaves, AFAIK, but Mohammed did.
Are there not mosques?Muslims don’t have images of their prophet. Not saying they’d be protested if they did, but they don’t so we really can’t know for sure they too wouldn’t eventually get attacked.
It is. And well deserved.I didn’t know “Leftists” was considered a prejorative
They are on the left, just not the radical left.I was going to post to say it wasn’t an accurate description of Democrats and that the people who call themselves “the Left” would laugh at the notion of calling Biden or Kamala Harris or Clinton “left.”
Oh, please. No matter where leftists have ruled, the poor have been worse off. Leftists murdered tens of millions of civilians in the last century.Actual leftists are about economic populism centered on the needs of the poor.
This has done elements of truth. Many American politicians are far more interested in the status quo of centralized power and the influence peddling it can bring. This is one reason why they hate Trump.People like Biden and the great majority of Democratic politicians are as far from that as any Republicans. That’s why SO many old-style/Bush Republicans can’t wait for Biden to be president.
I disagree. I think it is inevitable that, if Biden is elected and the Democrats retake the senate, they will pass some form of government dictated healthcare system, thereby ending the right to healthcare and increasing government control of the lives of the individual.Heck, they serve the same corporations/donors/lobbyists who would die before allowing something like universal healthcare to all regardless of income.
There is some truth to this, as well. We still see it when Republicans get duped into supporting a Marxist organization like BLM. It should be quite easy to stand on the constitutional conservative principle of individual rights, that the lives of American blacks do indeed matter, and they matter equally with the lives of all other Americans, and government abuses its limited power when it takes a life like it did to George Floyd.I have known, for a while now, though, that conservatives don’t know too much about the other side besides the culture wars.
Do the people in question know who he is and believe he is real?Mohammed did. Why is the “prophet” not the target of protest and criticism?
I doubt it. They don’t even know about some of the abolitionist statues they’ve attacked, but that’s really my point. The violent portion of this isn’t really about racism or George Floyd. If it was actually about slavery and racism, Mohammed would be denounced for owning slaves. On the other hand, they attack one of the greatest anti-slavery heroes - U. S. Grant!Do the people in question know who he is and believe he is real?
And unfairly so in many circumstances. Just as all Muslims are not responsible for the acts of radical islamists, The overwhelming majority of white Americans today are not racists, and none of us are responsible for slavery and segregation. Also Muslims have already been the target of criticism and attack in the USA.
Whether or not you think their methods have succeeded doesn’t change the fact that they are about economic populism centered on the poor. I don’t know which country has left its poor “worse off” by, gasp, providing tax-paper funded healthcare for all and education. That’s what they’re asking for and no, your assessment is not correct: the poor are not worsened by such policies. It’s simply false and gimmicky to claim so.Oh, please. No matter where leftists have ruled, the poor have been worse off.
That only shows you don’t know the man’s politics, only his party affiliation and all the caricatures the right attaches to it. Biden said explicilty in the primary, that even if medi4all somehow passed both houses, he’d veto it, to the ire of Leftists (the actual ones, not the imaginary ‘Leftist’ cartoons conservatives talk about). In addition, he authored the crime bill and voted 4 times to cut social security. So much for him being a “Leftist.” Conservative definitions are absurd.I disagree. I think it is inevitable that, if Biden is elected and the Democrats retake the senate, they will pass some form of government dictated healthcare system, thereby ending the right to healthcare and increasing government control of the lives of the individual.
Another untrue statement. BLM the anti-racism, anti-police brutality movement and BLM the organization, are not synonymous, as most reasonable people know, no matter how much conservatives try to force the conflation. There is some truth to this, as well. We still see it when Republicans get duped into supporting a Marxist organization like BLM.
I think you may be looking for a level of consistency that might come with centrally coordinated action. Instead, I think what we have, is a lot of actions by local groups and individuals. Those groups and individuals are not necessarily seeking to align. They don’t even know about some of the abolitionist statues they’ve attacked, but that’s really my point. The violent portion of this isn’t really about racism or George Floyd. If it was actually about slavery and racism, Mohammed would be denounced for owning slaves.
The rhetoric may be that, but every time it is imposed, and it is always imposed, it oppresses the poor and only enriches the ruling class. Russians starved while Lenin owned his Rolls Royces.Whether or not you think their methods have succeeded doesn’t change the fact that they are about economic populism centered on the poor.
Taxpayer limited healthcare is always just that; limited. No longer is healthcare a right, it is now a government provided privilege, just as easily taken away. It is no longer a right, but a government power to hold over the heads of the people for political purposes.don’t know which country has left its poor “worse off” by, gasp, providing tax-paper funded healthcare for all and education.
My assessment is historically proven. Simply look at the The eastern and western parts of Germany when the wall came down. That’s what they’re asking for and no, your assessment is not correct: the poor are not worsened by such policies.
Of course he said that, in deference to Obama.Biden said explicilty in the primary, that even if medi4all somehow passed both houses, he’d veto it, to the ire of Leftists (the actual ones, not the imaginary ‘Leftist’ cartoons conservatives talk about)
I am talking about the organization. Their founders and leaders themselves are self proclaimed Marxists. I’m not saying anything more than they are. And there are indeed overtones of racism in their actions and words.Another untrue statement. BLM the anti-racism, anti-police brutality movement and BLM the organization, are not synonymous, as most reasonable people know, no matter how much conservatives try to force the conflation.
You could easily say the same for American figures during the Great Depression or numerous other points in history.Russians starved while Lenin owned his Rolls Royces.
No, you can’t. The American people voted for their federal, state and local representatives. You could easily say the same for American figures during the Great Depression or numerous other points in history.
I think a lot of people involved in the movement are not connected with the leaders in the organization that goes by the same name. I don’t know what her specific position might be on various political philosophies. If Jen Reid stands for the individual rights of all citizens, I’m with her. If she stands for some of the Marxist positions we hear from some BLM leaders, that is quite the opposite of individual rights.
