Two Israeli Jews Stabbed, One Fatally, by Two Palestinians in Jerusalem
JERUSALEM — Two Palestinian assailants stabbed two Israeli Jews, one fatally, near a normally bustling entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem on Wednesday, and were shot by Israeli border police officers at the scene, the police said.
One of the assailants was killed on the spot; the other died later of his wounds, according to the police.
A third Israeli civilian, identified in the Israeli news media as Ofer Ben-Ari, 46, was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound and died hours later. The police said he appeared to have been hit by police fire during the attack.
The Israeli who was fatally stabbed was not immediately identified, but an official at the hospital where he died said he was a 45-year-old father of seven.
The police said the assailants were residents of the Qalandia refugee camp, between Jerusalem and the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The stabbing took place outside the Jaffa Gate, an entrance to the Old City near the line where the predominantly Palestinian area of East Jerusalem meets the predominantly Jewish western part of the city.
The walled Old City contains some of the most significant Jewish, Muslim and Christian holy sites and is a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims, particularly during the Christmas period. It has also been a focus of recent tensions and violence. The recent surge of attacks was initially fueled, at least in part, by a dispute over Al Aqsa Mosque compound, a contested holy site revered by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and by Jews as the Temple Mount.

Disgusting; poor Israel, we need to continue backing the one Democracy in the Middle East.

praying for peace in Jerusalem. praying for the repose of the souls who died and prayers for their families.

Praying for the soul of the dead man, family and friends of both Israelis. May God carry the dead in his arms and comfort his loved ones in their time of grief. So very sad for the seven children whose Dad will never come home.

May the perpetrators repent and seek entry through God’s door of mercy.

“He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice”. ~ Jesus to St Faustina

Well, when the Palestinians are teaching all their kids to stab, throw rocks at, shoot, etc jews or christians on sight, its not that surprising when it actually happens, and more than likely will continue to happen as these kids grow up.

First, these attacks are not aimed at Christians. Second, they are the tragic result of people being driven to desperation by the policies of the Likud government.

desperation? how do you justify killing innocent people because you don’t like the policies of the government? sounds like terrorism to me.
why do you make excuses for the murderers?

desperation?
Yes, desperation. The Likud government policies have made the Palestinian situation desperate.

I do not justify killing innocent people. I am merely pointing out that the corrosive effects of prolonged occupation and degradation experienced by the Palestinian people have tragically led some to see no way out other than violence.

Occupation corrodes morality on both sides.

As an aside, here’s an exercise in classic media bias. When incidents of Palestinian violence against Jews occur, they get prominent media coverage here. The far more prevalent cases of Jewish violence against Palestinians is virtually ignored.
