Two new Jesus movies based on the Islamic view.

I’m a bit ignorant on the subject of Islam. I have a question that perhaps Rayaan or planten could answer for me.

1. What miracles and how many miracles did Mohammed perform?
2. What miracles are witnessed today in mosques, etc…?

The reason I’m asking is that that shows the continuation of God’s presence in a religion (as with the miracles of the O.T.) and I haven’t heard much about this in Islam (again, I just don’t have this info.).

1) The word “Crusade” is not present in the Bible. However, your scripture is full of verses talking of Jihaad and praising it as a divine commandment.

You seem to know God so much, to tell others that THEY are confused. How do YOU demonstrate to us who God is, how He is, etc. How can YOU tell that YOUR own beliefs make sense? I can’t help thinking that the proof on the Christian side is overwhelming: innumerable miracles throughout the centuries even to today. Healings, signs in the sky, visions of Jesus and of Mary, miraculous conversions (not at the point of a sword).

Clearly, God is active in the Christian faith.

Yeah, Hamba2han already started a thread on that last year, thank you! And it just doesn’t make sense to us Christians (Catholics included), that’s not Jesus’ spirit at all, and you guys just play on words when it comes to swords. I thought then you were trying to distantiate yourself from him, Planten, but you seem to have changed since then…
As for the alabaster box which you called “oil of sin” (it’s not described as such in the Gospel, it’s your description of it), where did you see that it was Mary Magdalene? The Gospel of John says it’s Mary, Martha’s and Lazarus’ sister of Bethania, not Mary of Magdala who appears at the foot of the cross and among the women who were witnessing first that Jesus is risen from the dead. How do you confuse the two?

If a Christian made a movie about Muhammed, an honest movie that shows him warts and all, how would it be received? Even if it accepted that he got the Koran from an angel sent by God, how would it be received? Not too well. If I made the movie and showed all of the Historical Muhammed, I would be driven into hiding, if I did not live in Alabama. Muslims have a double standard: they do it, it is ok, anyone else does it, it is bad. Then again, this is the way of Allah. After all, he was willing to lie and deceive people about Jesus’s death on the cross, per the Koran.

The God of Christianity (and I am pretty sure of Judaism, too) cannot deceive or be deceived. He is honest and truthful to all people about all things. There is no duplicity in Him.

You can’t compare those two things. If Muslims were making movies about St. Paul (whom they generally don’t like) and vilifying him, that would be a comparison. But Jesus is a prophet in their tradition. It’s reasonable that they will make movies about him reflecting their views.
