VociMike:
no sin is mortal without full knowledge and consent.
diagrams… you are funny, friend…

masturbator 1: “I hate God, I masturbate to be against God’s law”
Hell.

masturbator 2: sexual immaturity, psycological disorders, miserable human condition.
If he repents, purgatory.

So…if we get absolution
we still pay in purgatory for it??
what!?

do you know the doctrine of temporal punishment to repair damage even after the sin is forgiven?

Agnus_Dei:
No please enlighten me
just one reference,
The Catechism of St Pius X
105 Q: What is satisfaction? A: Satisfaction, which is also called sacramental penance, is one of the acts of the penitent by which he makes a certain reparation to the justice of God for his sins, by performing the works the confessor imposes on him.
109 Q: Why is a penance imposed in confession? A: A penance is imposed because, after sacramental absolution which remits sin and its eternal punishment, there generally remains a temporal punishment to be undergone, either in this world or in Purgatory.
118 Q: Do those who die after having received absolution but before they have fully satisfied the justice of God, go straight to Heaven? A: No, they go to Purgatory there to satisfy the justice of God and be perfectly purified.
i think you can find many threads on Purgatory around here…

So wait…why did St Peter go directly to heaven
if he commited a mortal sin (denying Jesus)
then got absolution
(feed my sheep x3)
shudnt he still go to purgatory?

Huh?

Are you denying the necessary conditions of full knowledge and deliberate consent? Or are you saying that all masturbation involves full knowlege and deliberate consent, without exception?

No, because he is a martyr. Martyrs go directly to heaven. A great grace for those who shed their blood because of Christ.

Where is that in the bible!?!?!?!?
So Mother Teresa Never had a Mortal Sin?

masturbator 1 fits “full knowlege and deliberate consent”: that’s why i said: “hell”
masturbator 2, does not. that’s why i said: “purgatory”

OK, I just didn’t quite understand your first response (I guess it was just too straightforward for me 🙂 ).

charts and diagrams for “Agnus Dei”!

Im in such a pickle.
This Mortal Sin thing makes me want to quit the Church right now.
If I did…and lets say became a protestant.
Would I go to hell?

So Mother Teresa Never had a Mortal Sin?
she was not a martyr… why do you ask that?
she has been proclaimed “blessed”.

I was almost sure she was a saint…hmn…
Anyways I asked that because
your making it seem like Saints have never commited mortal sins
since they go straight to the Beatific Vision
and since you said that if we commit mortal sins
we go to purgatory for a while

I always thought that if a mortal sin is on your soul, and you are on your way to confession, and you die in a car crash, you might aboid hell because you had the intent on getting to confession? Is that true?

lol…
wow
thats really interesting
i honestly never expected that kind of answer
so all of the catholics who become Lutheran…Martin luther is possibly the best example lol
are in Hell?

If you choose to convert from the Catholic Church and you know it’s the true church…probably…that’s a mrtal sin.

But if you did not know the Catholic Church was the true Church, you would not have whole knowlage. In order for it to be a mortal sin, you need full knwolage, serious matter, and full conseit.
