Was that a national conference or was it ‘just’ Californians attending?
The conference is hosted by the Los Angeles Diocese but it’s held in Orange County (Orange Diocese). I think it’s open to anyone but most of the Catholics who attend are either from LA or Orange County.

**The liturgical abuse continues :nope: **

If I recall correctly the RE Conference was held in Orange County so many of our Religious Ed teachers from the Diocese of Orange attended.

Those pictures literally turned my stomach.

Lord help us!!!

DD - hey, we miss you over at the Envoy forum. Patrick and Coach are still up to their old tricks - you know, Patrick complaining that no one is answering him after he gets the answer. It’s gotten rather predictable now. Art Sippo is taking them on, and doing a great job of showing where they are wrong (though of course, they deny it). Anyway, hope all is well.
Per this thread, we did get a new Bishop in Saginaw, Mich. The liturgical abuses continue, but it is early yet in his role, so a lot of us still have hope. I suppose in California change will happen very slowly - if liberalism is as rampant as is indicated in these discussions.

It has been a long time, bout a year and a half…almost two. Been out of the discussion board scene for a long time. JP2s passing brought me back around…been kind of hooked here at the CA forum.

It’s GREAT to hear a voice from the past! How in the heck are you?

HAHA! You’ve got to be kidding. There arguments were old & predictable back when I was there…I tired of answering the same things over and over and over again. Do you think I should go back to say hello to 'em?

Kudos to Art…but the denial from our Calivinist friends (if memory serves correctly) doesn’t surprise me. Sounds like they’ve made the Envoy forms their personal crusade.
Anyway, hope all is well.
Thanks!

I wish you and all the folks in your area the best - but remember…slow and steady wins the race 🙂

It’ll be interesting to see how Pope Benedict XVI will handle dissent. Tough job to say the least!!!

Here is another thought on the subject. Jesus said “You are Peter and upon this rock shall build my Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.”

It’s up to you, say hello if you want to be friendly. I just sit back and giggle at some of Pat’s ravings (I don’t post there much anymore, but like to read how Art answers him). They’re arguing about James White in one thread (Pat’s a big fan). Things are slow but steady there, so I spend more time here.

To the thread monitor, sorry to get off topic, will try to keep the personal stuff to a minimum. Take care DD, and glad to see you’re posting again. I always enjoyed your logical approach to apologetics.

God allows this to happen in order to call us to prayer. We should pray as Queen Esther did when Haman was persecuting the Jews. It says in the bible that when things get so bad, the prophets will be silenced.
