Protests have erupted across Vietnam after two Catholic priests were beaten brutally allegedly by plain-clothed police and pro-government thugs.

The Bishop’s Office of the diocese of Vinh in a statement released on Monday night condemned the attacks on Fr Paul Nguyen Dinh Phu and Fr Peter Nguyen The Binh both of whom are still in critical condition, VietCatholic reports.

The statement also noted that plain-clothed police and pro-government thugs in Dong Hoi city had attacked anyone on the street wearing Catholic symbols.

Please, I keep asking, begging all to keep the ordained in prayer, daily. There is so much more going on than people realize. Prayer, and much of it is the answer. Keep it coming.

It really is terrible no words can describe this sadness.

O Jesus, eternal Priest,
keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart,
where none may touch them.

Keep unstained their anointed hands,
which daily touch Your Sacred Body.

Keep unsullied their lips,
daily purpled with your Precious Blood.

Keep pure and unearthly their hearts,
sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood.

Let Your holy love surround them and
shield them from the world’s contagion.

Bless their labors with abundant fruit and
may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and
everlasting crown. Amen. :signofcross:

Dear Holy Mother of God and all you angels and Saints, pray with us to God our loving Father, in Jesus’ name, please Holy Spirit, inspire us all to a deeper faith and keep these dear, holy men of God in your safe keeping. May their Guardian Angels conduct them to a place of healing. Amen

We all need to remember our Priests in our daily prayers, so many still undergo such sick and cruel persecutions and torture for love of God. As Deacon said, pray. Some of us may not be aware of it or ever will have to see it in our own personal lives, but it happens all over the world still to dear, good loving people who try only to serve the Lord.
