Interesting. This is way out of my knowledge field. But if I were to take a guess - assuming the story is true - I would say that is an abuse of diplomatic privaleges. The Nuncio, and his staff, are diplomats and are entitled to such private communication. The Archdiocese of Milwaukie is not a diplomat. (Unless he is working under cover. Hey, we do it all the time. Why can’t they?)

It’s not a story. It is a collection of church documents that were cited by the NYTimes when they wrote their recent story about the Pope (as Cardinal Ratzinger) refusing to try a molester in Milwaukie.

Don’t be too quick to judge. The Nuncio also takes with him requests for absolution from excommunications that can only be lifted by Rome. I’m sure penitents the world over feeler safer that such documents are protected by diplomatic immunity rather than being subject to a search by a border guard or the police.

Cardinal Ratzinger did what was the policy back then: he kicked it back to the diocese because it was the Bishop’s responsibility. It’s only recently that these things have been centralized in Rome.

I am not judging. I said “This is way out of my knowledge field” and noted “assuming the story is true”. I was just taking a guess.

yes, we know that this is motivated by money and organizations that sees the CC as their enemy. the CC stands against them in matters of Faith and Morals.

friends this is what this is all about. an opportunity to push hate against the Catholic Church because they know what she stands for. the enemies of the Church: feminists with agends, gays, lesbians, abortionists, securalists, unruling people, anyone who hates Jesus the Christ, those who hates celibacy for priests, and many others that i dont need to mention.

once we have this in mind, it is easy to combat the enemy.
