U.S. Limiting Chinese Clothing Imports

If the market were free, there probably would be no need to limit imports from China. American manufacturers claim they can meet the differential in labor rates with greater efficiency. However, the Chinese currency is arbitrarily fixed rather than being allowed to float as do other currencies, giving them a 27% (the last number I saw) edge which, when combined with the labor differential, is nearly impossible to overcome. China has obstinately refused to allow their currency to float, thereby effectively giving their manufacturers a 27% governmental subsidy when it comes to international trade. So much for the “free market” argument.

Ahhh… the free market at work, American style.
Despite your statement to the contrary in another thread, you attempt to bash the U. S., no matter what the subject of a thread is. Why don’t you read what St. Paul says about the tongue and try to put it into practice?

Hypocrit…the European Union is also considering sanctions against the Chinese for the same reasons. But then again, the EU is Socialist so you would not understand a free market in any case.

If that’s the case, and I have no reason to doubt you, then my comments go for them as well. Freedom of markets should not be abused by any country or group of country’s to simply protect and/or further their own selfish aims. I would have thought that anything that takes away from the poor (chinese or otherwise) should be roundly condemned on this forum irrespective of nationality or race, or do you not agree?

I think that is mistake, the US goverment has to be liberal in economical meaning.

There is no such thing as a “free market”.
Post of the day!

There are only markets where rich people take advantage of poor people.

All part of the New World Order coming to you soon.
