U.S. Orders Syria To Do The Impossible

After Syria withdrew its military forces from Lebanon, US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton orders Syria to disarm the Shia militias there.

Is he kidding?

Is there a person anywhere in the world who still thinks there is an ounce of sanity in the Bush administration? If so, let that person read John Bolton’s orders to Syria in the Jan. 24 online edition of the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz.

But the Security Council “also notes with regret that other provisions of resolution 1559 have yet to be implemented, particularly the disbanding and disarming of Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias,” the statement read.Sounds like it isn’t the President saying this but the UN and Syria is in violation of the Security Council resolution.

I find it interesting that this supposidly “anti-war” site is now supporting the fascist government of Syria, one of the worlds leading sponsors of terrorism.

That is calling the Bush administration insane. And since it is the UN giving the order, it really is misplaced and shows the original author wasn’t paying attention to what he was commenting about.

Whether this is namecalling or not is a matter of drawing the subtleties out. It is a personal attack in the form of the rhetorical question, both of which are discouraged by the guidelines.

Do people really believe this kind of behaviour helps their credibility? I find it sad.

The disarment of Hizbollah would be a wonderful news for everybody and we must want this. And Siria has the key.
