OK lets look at the treatment of women and compare it to the so called civilised world.
  1. A woman who marries in Islam retains ALL her posessions including goods,. money, property etc. etc. A woman who marries in the civilised world loses all her possesions (in law) to her husband.
  2. A woman in Islam has the same rights of divorce as the man, she has no need to justify or prove his behaviour. A woman in the civilised world as often as not has to prove or show just cause to divorce.
  3. In the event of divorce a woman in Islam has the automatic right to a share of the joint assets. A woman in the civilised world has to judtify through the courts normally her contribution to the collective assets.
  4. The murder of a wife by her husband in Islam is almost (not quite but almost) unheard of. Try saying that in the civilised world.
Finally think about this, in the so called civilised world the cost of becoming pregnant outside marriage is often the death of the unborn child!!! Personally I think that’s far more barbaric.

You may have missed a couple,
  1. Women are forced to walk around in 120 degree heat in full black clothing head to toe.
  2. Women have a general case of post traumatic stress disorder after living a common life of utter abuse and neglect … beatings included.
  3. Women are stoned to death for adultery or thrown off of towers in soccer stadiums to a cheering crowd.
  4. Women are treated as sub human life forms and taught to fear men.
I cant imagine this is the good Lords will, it takes a real tough guy with the ladies to cast the first stone.

  1. Yes, they were the Obayha, guess what? when very little is worn below it happpens to be very effective protection against the heat, ask my Mrs. she used wear hers in Saudi, worked too.
  2. PTSD after living a common life? Now your talking c**p. there is no evidence for that, if you want to make blatant statements give us some CREDIBLE backing for what you say.
  3. Stoning? yes it happens, chucking them of the top of football stadiums? I doubt that football had been invented when the Koran was written.

I have known many many Arab families both wealthy and otherwise and if you think the women are scared of their men your living on the dark side of the moon. Has it occured to you that most Arab families are very similar to Jewish families and I can’t see many Jewish Mama’s being frightened of their men.
    Yes there are cases of mistreatment of women, there are cases of beating, rape, murder all kinds of things, they happen in Saudi, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India, Philipinnes, Korea, Near East, Middle East, Far East, Asia, Europe, America (North and South), Africa, Ausralasia. About that only place it doesn’t happen is the Antarctic, but then man has yet to settle there.
    What worries me is your post, quote, “I keep hearing about …” If your so concerned about learning the truth try getting a passport and going to find out for yourself instead of listening to all the **** that simply reinforces your preconceptions. if you want to see frightened women go to some of the refugee camps in Palestine, then you will see what real fear is, and where it comes from, and it’s not the Palestinian men.

Let me get this straight,

Your defending the treatment of Middle Eastern women in a thread called “UAE 150 Lashes”. Then you are advising me to get a passport and go and see for myself in Israel.

Are you saying that these third world countries are in fact not third world countries? I had a guy at work tell me last night that in Iran they hanged a man at an altitude of like 500 feet in the middle of a city by a crane for all to see.

I happen to know that not all people in the Middle East are evil abusive monsters. I also consider myself a little to in tune with reality to allow misconceptions within myself based on a few reports of abuse.

The bottom line is that everyone knows that these countries are about 4-6 hundred years behind the rest of the world. These people are choosing to carry out evil acts against there fellow man and women in Gods name by choice. I call that evil, and that’s exactly what it is. There is no excuse in the year 2005 for a government to sentence a pregnant women to 150 lashes for adultery.

I’m not going to say “oh what a beautiful and devout culture, oops put on the blinders there bringing out the prisoner to be stoned”. Oops put on the blinders… there goes another car bomb. Oops put on the blinders they feel heaven is an eternal orgy with 70 virgins if you blow up a bunch of innocent people.
