This seems acceptable. If a person is single and chaste, his or her sexual orientation doesn’t matter. But in the case of a homosexual couple, it seems likely they are engaging in mortal sin.n late January, while the Catholic Church in Britain was making headlines objecting to the Sexual Orientation Regulations on behalf of Catholic adoption agencies, Archbishop Vincent Gerard Nichols of Birmingham let it slip in an interview with the BBC that British Catholic agencies had been adopting children to homosexual singles for years. The only objection, he said, was to placing children with gay couples.
Sad. Very sad. Yes, its inconsistent and unjustified.Catholic adoption agencies also place children with unmarried but cohabiting heterosexual couples, despite clear and even more accepted precepts against such arrangements.
I disagree Dale. Basically, what you are saying is that homosexuals should adopt before they cohabitate. There is no requirement mentioned or reliable test to see if they are living a chaste lifestyle. This seems acceptable. If a person is single and chaste, his or her sexual orientation doesn’t matter. I agree. Catholic adoption agencies should only allow married couples to adopt IMO.Sad. Very sad. Yes, its inconsistent and unjustified.
Point taken, but then there is no way to say that about single heterosexuals either. So should we simply do away with single parent adoption?I disagree Dale. This seems consistent with the belief that a mother and father are best for the raising of a child.Catholic adoption agencies should only allow married couples to adopt IMO.
