Oh yes, everybody goes to bed fully clothed, and when they get back in to bed to eat breakfast they never take their dressing gown off.

Most of the women I know skeep nude if child free, or have an oversized T-shirt or a nightie in bed. The men sleep nude or in boxers. I don’t know anyone with pyjamas. In summer it is perfectly normal to see people walking the streets, parks and road with their tops off.

**This seems to be missing the point. I think it’s good to teach children that it is normal in some situations to see people in states of some undress (at the pool, in summer at the park etc.). But the big problem is the daddy and daddy and baby bit. I wouldn’t want my children (if I ever was to have any) presented with this unless the context gave a clear understanding of the moral teaching of the Church. This should be presented in a caring and understanding way, so as to avoid any sense of gay-hatred. That’s not the teaching of the church. **

oh, and because homosexuality is atypical, but not abnormal…

**Is this your view or someone else’s, sorry- confused. But remember the Church does not teach this. **

The author said:

“I wrote Jenny Lives with Eric and Martin back in 1981 because I became aware of the problems which some children face when meeting family groupings different from the ones they are familiar with, ie mum and dad, possibly mum and dad divorced, maybe a step-parent."

**Interesting. That seems a sensible answer. **

Despite these intentions, the book has been categorized as “homosexual propaganda” by some, which has led to much of its influence and even notoriety.
**It’s all about context, imho. **

Wonder when they will make it wrong for private people in private capacities to express their views on homosexuality or abortion or euthanasia. Gay and other liberal claims are always taught as if they were objective truth and are sometimes stated as such.

That is the most disturbing part of this issue: that not only do they suggest that their views are absolutely right, but they now seek to criminalise what people think and say about any of these issues. When B16 talked of the ‘dictatorship of relativism’ he wasn’t kidding, I guess.

Exactly. They are already mandating what is good to teach people to think. They will at some point want to start mandating what is right to think.

Relativism can’t offer freedom. Relativism comes with fake absolutes. With secular authorities that dictate what’s right and what’s wrong.

Padlock the Religous Schools and let the parliament figure out how to handle all the new students. Is it so that in the UK Religous Schools are supported by public funds? Who holds title to the buildings?

They are normal schools largely funded by the Government. The Church owns the land I believe or some such arrangement, and supports the school (ie provides chaplains, raises money if needed).

At my CATHOLIC secondary school, we were taught that the “golden rule” was to wear a condom
