I’ll make mental notes the next time I go to the gym. IIRC most people watch the local news, CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews; the guys watch sports. I watched “Say Yes to the Dress” on the TV next to me once.
awww i loved my girlfriend is a gumiho! Now every time I see rain with sun I imagine Mi Ho crying lol. I watch way too many kdramas though.I do enjoy Ah! My Goddess, Gundam AGE, Inuyasha, Man vs. Food Nation and probably My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.![]()
Actually, talking about “dikes” is okay; referring to Dick van D y k e is not. Actually, I’m surprised that the censorbot let his first name through.Nope, but his last name is a naughty word now. I can only think of how humorous a thread on flood control structures would be.
I like Gold Rush Alaska, Bearing Sea Gold, Psych, Doctor Who, The O’Reailly Factor(I don’t know if news shows are allowed), Hannity, The Five, Red Eye(although this is really late at night and I wish I had the energy to stay up and watch it, lol), and Ghost Adventures. I also don’t mind ONce Upon a Time and a little of The Walking Dead.Once again it is Lent and once again, people have taken it as a chance to generalize popular media. As much as I appreciate the whole notion of abstinence, I’m tired of letting so many careless remarks about television shows slide.
This is similar to another a thread I made about getting sick of people bashing television. The difference now though is I want to focus on breaking up the big evil box that television shows seem to be. I think it’s time people should realize that TV watching need not be a mindless, surfing producer of couch potatoes.
What happened to the idea that people are quite preferential with what they watch according to who they are? Don’t people acquire a certain taste for certain television shows? For me, I am fascinated by documentaries, movies, and animated works. The only time I’ve had to tune into news and politics is when I needed a laugh (or an idea for work). What about everyone else? Have you ever tried to differentiate your preferences from that of others?
You should. It will show that television media is not that much different from your local library in terms of content.
With that said, here are the rules:
Come on folks, there’s got to be something you enjoy watching on TV. (No sardonic remarks please.)
- List down the kind of television shows you are always fond of watching.
- For the purpose of making it challenging, go first with shows starting from the 90s and are not religious. (Last thread had too many people just sticking to EWTN so I want more outside of that preference.)
I do watch some Korean dramas as well. :3awww i loved my girlfriend is a gumiho! Now every time I see rain with sun I imagine Mi Ho crying lol. I watch way too many kdramas though.
I notice you have added spoony to your religion tag. I wonder if you mean to say that you (or worse the church) are foolish, silly, or excessively sentimental, or if there is some other definition of spoony I’m not aware of.I do watch some Korean dramas as well. :3
I find Mi Ho to be quite cute.![]()

I’m talking about myself.
I am quite a sentimental type of guy. :3
Final Fantasy IV reference.Very well you spoony bard.
Heh, there’s plenty of men that watch kdramas just that some wont’ admit it haha.I do watch some Korean dramas as well. :3

Wow, lots of girls at my school seem to be into kdramas, too. They say Korea is a conservative country, and they seem to like the atmosphere of the shows compared to American TV. Some of them are even trying to learn Korean.I do recommend kdramas because they tend to be very safe and they are super addicting. You can watch hundreds of them for free online with english subtitles.
I don’t think that Bill Oreilly is an orthodox catholic. The factor! Bill Oreilly is Catholic!
Hmm, I had never heard of Korean dramas before. I’ll have to look into them. I can’t find much good on regular television anymore.Heh, there’s plenty of men that watch kdramas just that some wont’ admit it haha.
I find Shin Min Ah beautiful as well, I believe she is also a model.

I once spent 4 months straight watching only kdramas and korean variety shows (when my obsession first started) and then one day I decided to watch a regular American show and the difference was striking lol!
I don watch some American shows that were mentioned such as Blue Bloods, Elementary and Person of Interest.
One show to add to your gays and gals category is: Friends.Pff, this thread is actually turning out as well as I expected. I suggest any lurker with a beef with television should really take a nice, long read at the responses.
There’s a cable TV at work and it really amuses me to see the kind of different things different people watch on it. It makes it hard to believe so many sweeping statements people make on here (especially during Lent).
Here’s a rough illustration:
Gays and Gals - America’s Next Top Model, Jane by Design, Project Runway
Bros - Inside the NBA, CNN Sports, America’s Most Shocking
Nerds - Highly formal science documentaries. (Sheldon Cooper would be proud.)
Pet Lovers - Dog Whisperer, My Cat From Hell, Pets 101
Foodies - Man VS Food (That show is torture! stomach growls DX), Cake Boss
Geeks - Bug Wars, Mythbusters, River Monsters
Me - Animax segments on AXN, classic flicks on Disney Channel, and any other good movie on HBO, Star Movies etc.
