St. Philomena. I know she is fairly popular, burn I’ve heard that she isn’t even considered a saint by some Catholics nowadays.

I very much appreciate Fr. Solanus Casey. Recently I was reminded of the baptized children who pass before the ‘age of reason’ are indeed Saints. They are often not called upon for prayer, even though they stand in Gods Presence. Holy Souls who will be, and how wonderful it is to be their friend. I can’t wait to read more from other posts here. ☀️

I like Blessed Solanus Casey too. At his shrine I met an elderly man who remembered seeing him walk around the neighborhood when he was alive.

Some lesser-known saints that I like include:
With respect to people on the path to sainthood, just confining myself to those who are beatified, I like Blessed Miguel Pro (another very famous Cristero martyr), Blessed Jerzy Popieluszcko (fought Communist oppression in Poland and was murdered on my 21st birthday), and Blessed Titus Brandsma (a Dutch Carmelite priest who died at Dachau).

I ❤️ St. Ubald.
Wanted to be a hermit, ends up a bishop instead.
Has a level of chill we can all admire.
A man pushed him into wet cement in a fit of rage and he just got up and walked away like nothing happened.
He threw himself into the middle of a battle and everyone stopped fighting worrying they had all stabbed their bishop.
He tamed a wild emperor and prevented him from sacking a town.
He is a patron for OCD sufferers, so between that and his patience he should be patron of these forums.

Edit: I forgot to mention, as my nephew points out, his name looks like a question about if he had any hair.

St. Bernard of Clairvaux! A Doctor of the Church, patron of the Knights Templar (he wrote the basis of the Rule of Life for militant Orders), and mediator in an anti-Pope crisis!

St Longinus who pierced the side of Jesus with the lance.
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

St. Adelaide of Burgundy, patron of abuse victims; brides; empresses; exiles; in-law problems; parenthood; parents of large families; princesses; prisoners; second marriages; step-parents; widows.

My wife and I picked her as the patron of our marriage and set our wedding on her feast day (Dec 16) because her patronage spoke to us.

My wife was abused, was a bride twice, is a parent, has a large family, and was widowed from her first husband.
I was abused, had in-law problems (on my first marriage), am a parent, and was widowed.
We are both on our second marriage.

Perfect saint for us.

Saint June of Livonia
Saint Dan of Homer
Saint Kenneth of Detroit
(my departed Mother, Brother, and Dad, all of who by the theological virtues of faith and hope, I believe are seated as saints in Heaven)

St. Francis de Sales is my fave. I guess he’s relatively popular. He converted like 70,000 protestants in Geneva when Calvinism was a big thing and I’ve always thought that was cool. He wrote a lot of great books, especially ‘Introduction to the Devout Life.’

Blessed Ivan Merz

Too bad that his work and writings are not widely known. From his journal it can be clearly seen how God’s grace led him to sanctity. He led a holy life as a lay person.

St. Germaine Cousin. Endured a lifetime of cruelty but remained humble, patient, generous and forgiving.

St Simeon Stylites - lived his last 37 years on a platform above the Earth so to practice asceticism and remain uncorrupted by sin.

When he arrived there, they wanted to kill him, but in a few years, he had converted everybody. Just incredible! I also read the Introduction. I posted a quote from him on another thread about favorite saint quotes. “Half an hour’s meditation each day is essential, except when you are busy. Then, a full hour is needed.”

I often wear his medal.

That’s great stuff! Even though he technically isn’t my official patron saint (Dominic Savio is) I’ve kind of adopted him as my patron saint because I have lots of protestant (especially Calvinist) friends and I want to help these friends to come back to the faith, sort of like St. Francis. Sadly, most of these friends are protestants because of their parents who either fell away in college or married a non-catholic. Anyway, I got St. Francis’s book ‘The Catholic Controversy’ for Christmas and can’t wait to start it. It’s based on the pamphlets he handed out to the protestants in Geneva to convince them of the truth of Catholicism. Great stuff all around!

St Stephen. Stoned to death, they said that he was like an angel.

As a matter of interest St Vianney said that he relied of St Philomena and sometimes proposed that people go to her statue and pray for her intercession.

St Jacinta, (Fatima)
