Hi everyone,
I am new here and I am hoping I am posting in the correct place.
My problem is I have been unemployed for a while now. I am grateful that financially, I will still be ok for a few months but I do need to look at the reality of the situation and get work soon.
I want to trust God is bigger than my problems and He has a plan for my life. When I have my nose in a Catholic/Christian self help book, it is easy to trust. But the second I try to do something else with my day (especially look for a job), is when I get scared.
I get down on myself and don’t believe I am good. (Satan’s lies can seem so real at times). Or I beat myself up for acting like a babbling idiot on an interview. I have done a lot of career counscelling and from experience I have learnt the hard way what impresses one interviewer does not impress the next one.
I want to be able to look back at my life and see the good God is doing right now. But it just makes no sense at this point in my life. Getting my education was a BIG struggle and I though that I would be able to look back at that part of my life and see how it lead me to a fulfilling career. But all I see is a big struggle for being unemployed that seems fruitless.
I don’t want career couscelling, there are plenty of other websites for that. I want ‘how to trust Jesus’ counscelling which is why I am here.
What makes it hard is the friends I have at church I can not talk about this to. They just say cruel comments. It is a sad contradiction because a lot of these friends are devout Catholics with large families. But yet, there is this underlying competition to have the best career. My heart bleeds for some of my friend’s children because the pressure put on them to excel at school and extra currirular activities is so strong, I doubt they would have any sympathy for me who is down on her luck right now.
Please pray for me. It gets lonely at lot lately
