Ah, ah, ah, but wasn’t He discouraging such thoughts towards individual peoples and NOT corrupted nations as a whole? Who do you blame when an entire nation has fallen short of God’s will? You can’t blame an individual, because it is not one persons fault.

I’m not very well versed (I do believe I’ve stated elsewhere I’m rather new to this) but as much as He taught we should not give ourselves credit for the good in our lives, He also taught if we are disobedient much BAD will result (whether as a direct punishment or as a result of our bad action is really kind of murky. The fig tree shrivels up because it angers Him for not bearing fruit… I’d say that’s a pretty direct punishment and a pretty powerful symbolic message). Off Topic Aside:I just finished reading the Gospels and that’s what I got from them. Just started John now… ouch John, ouch.

Actually, we do seek to outlaw it. We protest outside of abortion clinics. We offer sidewalk counseling to women going to the clinic. We hand out small, plastic fetus dolls at pro-abortion feminist conventions (which they freaked out about).

What do you suggest? We can’t go around blowing up clinics or block the doors. We are doing everything to stop abortion legally.

I was talking about politicians. The great majority of them just say they are anti abortion without actually caring about it. A lot of it has to do with appeasing the religious right…this is why the great majority of democratic candidates are for abortion and the great majority of republican candidates are against abortion. A lot of them likely don’t care about the issue but just go along with party lines because that will help with votes.

NOW you are starting to make sense. But what do you mean about “appeasing the religious right”?

There were times when the world was horrible in the past and there are going to be times when the world is horrible in the future.

Anyway, there are a lot of things that people need to account for when it comes to voting for a president. Bush didn’t “support” abortion, but he did nothing to stop it. So what is the difference? Also, America is the only country in the world where moral issues such as abortion are also political issues. It is all BS because the people that oppose abortion don’t do anything but talk about how they don’t support it…they don’t look to outlaw it or ban it, so why does it matter what they say?

In the first place, you’re stating exactly what 2 Peter says when you scoff at th idea that God would destroy the world due to sin and the rejection of Jesus and his teachings. Honestly, God’s word is not BS and He can’t be mocked. Most of the problems of the world are due to people’s choice not to follow the Word of God, namely Jesus. Jesus said to the Apostles, when they were asking about the end times, to look up and pray always that you may escape the coming tribulation. Jesus also said to stay in Him and to be fruitful or else you will be gathered up like dead twigs and thrown into the fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. That’s not my philosophical postion, it’s the word of God. If a politician says that he apposes or approves of anything, I have to take him or her at their word because I cannot know whats in their heart. If they really don’t care about the issues, then that’s between them and God, but if someone runs for office and openly supports things such as abortion and homosexuality, and you vote for that candidate, then aren’t you approving of that type of behavior. Christians should judge others inside the Church, but God will judge those outside the Body. We know from the Bible that we are called to fight the good fight and to persevere until we die, then God will reward us. We can also understand from the Bible that we will be persecuted. We should be looking forward to the return of Jesus Christ and a new heaven and earth, no BS.
 
As long as we have major league baseball, rock ‘n roll, muscle cars and apple pie, I’m stayin’! 👍
