As someone who had to assist the wedding coordinator (our Cathedral had over 85 weddings a year), I can tell you that on a practical level, that will not work. First of all, I don’ t know if you’ve ever worked with couples, but, immediately after Mass (and the picture taking), they all want to beat it to the reception hall.**

No, I’m not being facetious.
But is there any reason why it can’t be done AFTER the dismissal just before the recessional—the idea that the couple becomes a new prism for the Light of Christ to shine forth upon those they love and the world.
Second, and even more importantly, why do you want to tack on something to the Nuptial liturgy? The Paschal Candle and the Unity Candle are two entirely different things that have two very distinct meanings. Plus, you would be tacking on something to the liturgy when you have no right to do so.
