University of Minnesota OKs anti-Catholic play “The Pope and the Witch,” snubs bishops

January 30, 2007

The blasphemous play “The Pope and the Witch” is scheduled to stage at the University of Minnesota on March 1. Written by avowed communist Dario Fo, the play describes the Pope as a heroine-addict with a ‘crucifixion stroke,’ a mockery of the Crucifixion.

Thank you for the alert.

It took me 3 seconds to sign the protest. Let them have it.

God bless!

I don’t mean to be a killjoy, but… no, you can’t make a big difference. The play will go on either way.

Maybe so; maybe not, but next time they just might think twice about it before doing so again.

But only if a LOT of us take action.

Did you know that Target stopped contributing to Planned Parenthood, because of boycotts?

Remember how some stores included Christmas, because many of us spoke out.

Just a couple of examples, but naysaying will yield zero results, friend.

Here’s another case of letting our voices be heard from my e-mail from AFA:

"Sales of Ford Motor Company autos went down 19% in January, compared
to a year ago.

In 8 of the 10 months since AFA began the boycott of Ford because of
the motor company’s support for the homosexual agenda—including
same-sex marriage, Ford’s sales have gone down compared to a year ago.

Wal-Mart has announced they will no longer support or oppose
controversial issues. Ford originally made a similar pledge to AFA
but reneged when a small group of homosexual leaders demanded
retraction.

AFA has repeatedly asked Ford to remain neutral in the culture wars,
but the company has continued to promote the homosexual agenda.

During the November elections, Ford pointed their employees to visit a radical
left wing online voters guide for information on how to vote. The
Website that contained the guide urged votes against constitutional
amendments banning homosexual marriage, for stem cell research in
Missouri and against an amendment banning abortion in South Dakota."

Except GM’s sales went down too. Both companies blame it on fewer sales to rental car companies, not because of some boycott most people haven’t heard of.

It fantasizes about being another southern California, knowing no such nightmare will ever materialize because of its geographic location, weather and climate. Keep dreaming, Minnesota. Keep dreaming, and peering out at reality through a hole in your snow-cave. 👍

It’s true that both Ford and GM are in trouble, but Ford went down a whooping 19% in December. How did GM do in December?

Leaders of 44 pro-family groups urged Ford to be neutral, so many people DID hear of this boycott.

Right on Abitreckless:thumbsup:
Thanks for posting the website for signing on to the protest! I’ve been a member of TFP for about 18 months and I do believe they have made a hugh difference in America. And I urge all Catholics to go to this site and spend some time to see what good they do.

TFP certainly is a great group, and you can be proud that you are a member.

God bless!

Thanks! They have the most beautiful calendars of “Our Lady of Fatima” that I have ever seen! Have you seen or do you have one?
God Bless!

There are several student groups working in the Catholic colleges
We regret to inform you that 24 Catholic colleges and universities will show the “V***** Monologues” – a lewd production that threatens the souls of students.
But we have a chance to STOP it, if I can count on your help TODAY.
Will you join me and thousands of other young Catholics to protest this play? You’ve helped me oppose public sin in the past, and I urge you to speak out again.
Here’s what you can do:
  • Register your protest. Send your e-protest card to the Presidents of the 24 Catholic colleges where the “V***** Monologues play is scheduled to stage, by [clicking here. (http://saprotest.tfp.org/Protest.aspx?id=ad28e622-6df0-4540-a73c-53f14508708f)
  • Contact your friends. Urge them to stand up for morality. Forward this message to at least 5 more people – or even your entire address book if possible.
Several colleges already canceled the production because of protests like this!
But here’s what students will see if we fail to stop this play at other colleges. According to the Cardinal Newman Society’s website:
“Students and faculty on campuses worldwide take to the stage chanting obscenities, telling tales of lesbian activity and masturbation, and declaring the lesbian rape of a teenage girl her “salvation” which raised her into “a kind of heaven.” [More]
This is what a Catholic student from Massachusetts wrote after seeing the play:
“…it was a horrible exhibit of vice, lust, and infidelity. Everything about the play – the content, the performers, the atmosphere – was decidedly opposed to just about everything the Church teaches, whether it be about sexuality, abortion, contraception, holy matrimony, modesty, chastity, vulgarity, humility, reverence, you name it.
    He continued …
“…the Lord had pity on me and has given me the grace to retain my faith after having been in such an undesirable situation. Even so, the painful memories of lust and blasphemy still echo in the outer fringes of my mind.”
** If you care, please protest this abomination TODAY!!**
Your friend in Jesus and Mary,

I agree it isn’t either…I am a nurse, so I know that clearly, however, what I copied and pasted came directly from their mailing.

Vagina isn’t a dirty word.
Navy, What’s your PROBLEM?!?!
If your against these types of protest, why don’t you just ignore them rather post?
OH! silly me, I forgot this is a free country & all have freedom of speech!
