I believe Bernie Sanders should win in the next election and bring us Universal Basic Income because we need Universal Basic Income for the children and for our country and for the world. That would be really really cool. Don’t you guys think so? Why, or why not? Please discuss with me. That would be fun. Thank you and God Bless you.

I’m Catholic, the Church has repeatedly condemned the ideology of socialism, just because someone has some good ideas, doesn’t mean all of their ideas are good ideas. This is someone that thinks abortion is a right, I do not want him as a president , read more about him

You say for the world. Does that mean the US should provide a universal basic income to everyone in the world?

Zach. I personally believe that by providing an example here in America, we could better provide for our future as a world, and provide that for our children, like, here in the United Nations, where we work, together, building our world, for a stronger tomorrow. Thank you and God Bless you.

It doesn’t have to be Mr. President Bernie Sanders. It can be anyone. I know it’s true.

Why?

Why should someone who refuses to work be given free money? I know there are plenty of people who can’t work, but I also know that there are plenty of people who chose to just live off what welfare provides rather than trying to find a job. Why should we give those people anything?

Where is this money going to come from? I already lose over a quarter of my paycheck to the government, why should I be forced to fork over more of the money I worked for so that government can hand it out to people who didn’t do the work?

Though philosophically I’m opposed to it eventually we might not have any choice and have to provide it. With technology taking more and more jobs eventually there won’t be enough jobs. If self driving vehicles take away driver jobs then it’s really a problem. Make the able bodied do something though, some kind of public service work. Don’t pay them to just sit around and get lazy. Or better yet let them do jobs that immigrants now do that Americans supposedly won’t do now.

2 Thess 3, 10 “In fact, when we were with you, we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work, neither should that one eat.”

It will never happen. Globalization is made with private money. The reason why they invested in it is to get profit and nothing else. Sanders may convince investors to help him win or support his agenda in part but that is all he or anyone else can do. This idea with basic income will never happen. The big companies involved need poorer countries for better profit.
Plus, Sanders supports the idea of US sponsoring abortions in Africa. How Christian is that…but I know you said anyone can do it not just him.
Or…a universal basic income can be made and then followed by a decrease in value to all coins. Take your pick. You can have 4,000 dollars and not be able to pay for water and electricity. Look at what socialism did in South America.

Wow. Those are awesome points. I really see. Let’s see if we can take it one by one according to the schools. One, this ain’t no fun. Naw man. I’m just kidding.

Why? Because free money is awesome man and nothings every gonna change that.

Why should someone who refuses to work be given free money? It’s not so much, ProdglArchitect that they refuse to work, I personally believe, it may be more along the lines of they need it and they can’t find work and nothings ever gonna change that, or, everyone should get truly a basic income and you know, maybe no one can change that either. I think of a country like India, Brazil, Russia, China, Iraq, and Afgahanistan. They need cash. They need the cold hard cash in their hands because they don’t have it. It’s just as simple as that. I mean, what are we going to do for these people, seriously…I mean wow. I just can’t fathom how simple it is, you know what I mean architect, to just dole out the cash from the bank of international settlements or something, or something as simple as even the bank of America. I mean, don’t we want the best for people? Don’t we want to support our children, no matter what? For real. I don’t even understand, why we can’t get more cash in hand. Hey everyone, maybe that should be our slogan!

I disagree. I believe it is a wholeheartedly Catholic and Universal Idea. Youniversal standard income is awesome.

Yeah, I think that is ruthless. Especially for people who need the money, and are unable to find work. I mean, just drive around your city. Look at all the houses. There are so many houses, and so few places to work. What do we do now Sacred Scripture?

Welcome to the no troll, no sea lion CAF!

As to basic income what would it do to individual initiative? In our Lord’s parable about the vineyard owner seeking workers (Matthew 20), he would have asked the men standing around to go work in his vineyard. To which they would reply, “No, man, we’re cool. We got basic income.”

Don’t you guys think so? Why, or why not?
No, I don’t think so, because it’s based in an absurd notion of how economies work and how people behave. It will end up harming the very people it’s supposed to help.

I am not a Bernie Sanders fan, but I pray that the Democratic Party candidate beats Donald Trump. 🙏🙏🙏
Economically speaking, I believe we need some balance between capitalism and socialism.
I am not for socialism, but capitalism without some regulation is no good either.
I believe that the minimum wage should be raised to $15 or $20. That would allow those at the bottom end of the pay scale to make between $600 to $800 per 40-hour work week.

I believe Universal Standard income would do to the individual’s initiative bolstering and support because maybe then they could afford to do things above and beyond their current social security poverty level, and perhaps increase their creativity and relief of their suffering.

This is a deeply, deeply selfish response to my question. There is no such thing as free money. Every last red cent you’re getting for doing nothing comes at the expense of someone else who went to work, put in their 8+ hours (or fewer, for the under-employed), and who watched as their paycheck vanished into the pocket of the federal government. Money does not just appear out of thin air, it is the result of the production of a good or service.
Why should someone who refuses to work be given free money? It’s not so much, ProdglArchitect that they refuse to work, I personally believe, it may be more along the lines of they need it and they can’t find work and nothings ever gonna change that
There are literally millions of positions open in my area alone. There are more job opening than there are unemployed people. That’s not even counting the high-skill jobs. That’s not true everywhere, but generally speaking there is work to be had, it;'s just really hard work that people don’t want to do.
or, everyone should get truly a basic income and you know, maybe no one can change that either.
That is the assertion I’m refuting, and you’ve provided no meaningful reason for it.
I think of a country like India, Brazil, Russia, China, Iraq, and Afgahanistan.
They need cash. They need the cold hard cash in their hands because they don’t have it. It’s just as simple as that.
It’s funny, almost all of those examples actually have a massive amount of money and natural resources, it’s just all in the hands of the big governments / dictators. So what you’re saying it that we should give them our money because their own governments take all their money. That is not rational. You would also be creating the same sort of big-government dependency that has turned those countries into such awful places.

Why is it our job to fix their governments? Every time we try to the world gets pissed off at us, so I say we let them have their own revolutions and overthrow their own dictators / big governments / caste system/ immoral theocracies, etc. The only way it will stick is if it’s done by the people, we’ve seen that time and time again. Us stepping in from the outside doesn’t spur them on to self-development, it makes them dependent and almost universally results in collapse as soon as we leave. In order to maintain what you’re suggesting, we would literally have to become financially responsible for the entire world, and that’s just irrational.

That is not best for people. Free things don’t do people a lot of good. What does people good is creating an economy with work, where a man can earn his bread. Welfare has never lifted a single person out of poverty, it’s only create an entire class of people that depend on it.

If you want to help people, support someone who will actually create jobs. Everything else is just misguided lip service that will only serve to drag the entire civilization down to the lowest common denominator.
